how dangerous is this?
while i was getting gas last sunday, the security guard of the station started smoking beside the pump.
idiot. marunong pa syang umarte nang paalisin sya.

every hose sa modern pump merong simple device/valve (nalimutan ko na term) that will prevent the fire from reaching the internals of the pump...safety feature ito kaya sakaling mahagip ng apoy kahit na vapor ng gasolina, masusunog lang kung ano yung nasa hose at.....lahat ng gasolina sa kotse nyo kaboom!

nung nag comute ako na tyempuhan ko na nag pa gas yung sinasakyan kong jeep pauwi na din ako pagarahe na din siguro yung matandang driver. kanina pa naka yosi yun siguro half the stick na nung nag papagas na edi kinabahan ako kasi nasa likod lang ako ng driver side nagkatinginan kami nung ale isip isip ko pucha pag tayo sumabog dito... iniisip ko na nga bumaba at mag tricycle na lang. bumaba yung driver inangat yung hood nag lagay ng tubig subo pa rin yung yosi. pag balik di naka tiis yung ale sabi hoy mama yung sigarilyo nyo patayin nyo baka sumabog tayo! sabi nung driver hindi yan! (yabang pa eh) sabi mamatay pa nga yung sigarilyo pag na tapunan ng gasolina eh so napa isip ako totoo kaya! tapos sabi ang delikado yung spark at apoy pero pag baga lang wala yun. so yun.. share ko lang totoo ba yun?

sa diesel pwede pa dahil mataas flash point at fire point nito (The lower the flash point, the easier it is to ignite the material)...nasubukan ko na at namatay lang yung yosi sa diesel.... sa gasolina di ko pa nasubukan...

wala akong test lab he he...sa isang sulok ko ginawa sa gas station noon yung sa diesel...alam ko namang di magliliyab eh...

gawin nating test car yung AE111 mo para malaman natin kung may big boom kapag sa gasolina??? :lol: he he

....delikado nga ata pag gaseous state. sinubukan namin kasi dati yung tapunan ng yosi ang kalye na binuhusan ng gas (ala-movie style), namatay lang yung yosi.

yup. ang alam ko mamatay ang yosi pagtinapon mo sa gasolina. yung spark at open flame ang delikado. yung ember di naman ata. pero it's still best to be safe. if there's still a 0.00000000001% chance that it will ignite, better not to take the risk.

sa discovery channel's myth busters, na prove nila na ndi enough yung yosi at paggamit ng cellphone para mag cause o ma ignite yung gas vapors kahit pa sobrang saturated yung environment. ndi ko lang napanood na maigi nung lighter na ginamit nila.

about the static charge, madami na videos na nagpapatunay na it can start a flame during fill up. pero fortunately, mga sosi mga pinoy pagdating sa gasolinahan kasi meron mga boy sa stations not like in some countries na yung driver ang maglalagay ng gas sa sariling kotse.

nway, despite all these, mas maganda pa din mag ingat at wag mag yosi at magcellphone.
