    a first in the NBA...

Celtics Legend Bill Russell'''s No. 6 Jersey to Be Permanently Retired by NBA | News, Scores, Highlights, Stats, and Rumors | Bleacher Report

"Bill Russell’s unparalleled success on the court and pioneering civil rights activism deserve to be honored in a unique and historic way," commissioner Adam Silver said. "Permanently retiring his No. 6 across every NBA team ensures that Bill’s transcendent career will always be recognized."

The number retirement begins with immediate effect, though players who already wear No. 6 can continue to do so.

finally, the management of detroit is doing something right. w/ the acquisition of no non-sense croatian sensation bojan bogdanovic, he's going to be one of the vets who's going to complement the young turks of the pistons.

the youth brigade composed of stewy, ivey, cade, and bey will need some ofundation and experienced smarts from kemba and the croat bogey. the pistons has really gotten the better end of the deal by handing out kelly olynyk and saben lee to the jazz.

after years of despair, a life long pistons fan like me has something to look forward to once again. as the classic holidays tune says, "it's getting to look a lot like christmas"
