Kobe would end up tearing his Achilles by playing 48 minutes a game and never being the same afterwards. He was also suffering from a lot of persisting injuries prior his death. Pero walang makakatapat sa dedication niya sa game, sumuko lang katawan niya.

Iba na ngayon. An athlete's body is his primary investment. Nobody would risk his body now, and end up like Derrick Rose whose supposed bright future was cut short. There would be more time for accollades later on, but not after your body gives up on you.

Kasalanan nga coaching yan. Wala silang nabuong strategy to counter yung tactics ng Miami.

that's what i'm talking about. bryant laid everything out on the line for the W.

michael jordan, in his sophomore year, broke his left foot and was consequently ordered by management to sit out the rest of the season to avoid aggravating a possible career ending injury. mj not playing the remainder of that tournament would also give the bulls a reason to go tanking for a possible shot at a high lottery pick in the 1986 rookie draft. he defied the command from high up and the rest is basketball history.

and who doesn't know the story of the legendary wes unseld and his inspiring come back.

the stuff they call "load management" nowadays was totally unheard of before in the nba.

Didn't Jordan sit the next 64 games after that injury? he just played bacause they made the playoffs despite the 30-52 season

As glorifying as those sound, the reality is that more careers were cut short because of injuries than those who won championships. Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, TMac, Bosh, etc who could have had better careers. Some are lucky to stay in the league like Derrick Rose. KD lost multiple seasons rushing back from injuries.

and yet he came back to play when he didn't have to. all because he wanted to prove management and pundits wrong and not regret not hooping it afterwards.

all these guys played through injuries and ultimately retired in their 30's. durant and bosh eventually got the ring while others were less than fortunate although they soldiered on even if their team weren't championship contenders. they played through regular and elimination games w/ more than a sore ankle (w/c giannis was observed to be not limping on although he hid wear a restricting ankle boot during the pre-game shoot around).

the only differentiating name in the players you mentioned was chris bosh's who had suffered from life threatening blood clots w/c have made teams wary of signing him. the man still wanted to play as recent as 2 seasons ago but no nba manager thinks it's worth the risk.

grant and tmac are doing pretty well as basketball analysts. penny has been the head coach of his beloved memphis university bball team for several years now. bosh is sitting pretty w/ his moolah to this day. last i read he's still being paid by miami (til 2022) as stipulated in his contract - via insurance that is.

pero tulad ng sabi mo, they're no longer as reckless w/ their money because they're now part of the rat race.

after 2020-2021 season pa sya UFA. now here's the problem, kung hindi sure ang Bucks na mag re-sign sa kanila si Giannis, they can trade him next season para kahit paano they get something in return. or risk it and hope & pray that he will re-sign. not sure kung pwede na sya kaagad offeran ng contract extension next season ng Bucks, if he doesn't sign it, alam na this.

wala pang sure until macompute nila yung cap space for next season.

For comparison, si AD offeran dapat ng 5 years 230 million supermax. sa Lakers inofferan siya ng 4 year 146 million, but eligible for 5 year 202 million after nung current contract niya (from Pelicans). Mga 30-50 million siguro

I like how he plays, gusto ko sa mga players yun sure all mga mid range.

after the debacle at san antonio, how was his health na? i know he missed games as a raptor but how about as a clip? i don't follow the nba that much anymore nowadays. except when it comes to detroit and sacramento

btw, vanvleet is being courted hard by detroit daw. they think rose and vanvleet would be a good fit.

I really love how Kawhi plays din. not flashy but super effective. aside from his great defense din. kaya takot ako pag nagka harap sila ng fave team ko, Lakers hehe.

during the time na na injured sya sa Spurs nagkaruon ng issue kasi ayaw pa nya bumalik even though cleared na sya ng doctors to play. a lot of people criticized him. but for me, he only wants to take care of his future and only he can tell what his body feels. even nung nasa Raptors sya, naka "load management" sya and it turns out great for them when they won the championship.
