Yung frame ko medyo may mga gasgas na eh. Kaya ba pintahan na parang Ti ulit? Hilamos baga. Di ko pa kasi kaya ung binebenta sa aking Litespeed na Ti frame.

about the single-speed bikes? not much i'm afraid, only na "smooth style" ang kailangan daw pag single-speeder. (???)

the reason why i used the word "slick" was because your frame is so sleek and classic looking, it would look more elegant without the gear set... and instead have a single-speed set-up...opinion ko lang

sa comment mo re medyo malikot ang ng steering mo, how wide are your bars and how tall is your "steering post"? (i think that's what its called ):confused:

anyway, two days ago i cut off a total of 1.5 inches off my handlebar and shortened the steering post by about 1.25 inches. it is now more maneuvarable but requires a stronger grip when going fast downhill (from meralco ave down to c-5) kasi mas nagiging sensitive siya. i did the same stretch before without the modifications and it was definitely more stable. original setup kasi, awkward masyado sa slow speeds negotiating uneven road surfaces. on the whole, mas gusto ko siya ngayon...but would like to try a rough downhill road sometime for a real test!

I eat muna at home para pag dating ng UP i burn what I ate hehe. Pre, last time nagbike ako was yung race. My mind is willing but will my body be? Thats the big ? hehe. Sabay lang tayo. 3 man peloton ba?

anyway, looks like my friend chickened out, ayaw lang gumising ng maaga yon! kung hindi mo kasama regular buddies mo, mukhang 2-man pelotan.

Same here dude, and thanks for not leaving us gasping behind hehehe. Sabi maganda daw talaga ang Subic and environs (on & off-road) kaya medyo priority dapat yan. Hopefully, hindi ma-flat ulit tire ni Mikko ;)

Milo's invit to Tanay is also worth pursuing...140 km of wide open hills and fast downhill runs...whole day yun. Based doon sa recommendation mo, dapat 70 kms a day ang practice at least. on the right tires, we should be able to keep up with that hard-core pack. first, me should cut down on my smoking, me thinks :worried:

Recommendation: Pick it up again! One is never too old to pick up a bike and feel young again. Almost like having a new girl hehehe....


Re your question, sa konting alam ko lang, Shimano Deore XTR is the best gearset money can buy right now. It can set you back 40-50K, or over US$800 (tama ba guys?)

BlackMagic has the LX circa '97 on his bike btw.

Tires, if you're talking the best, depende siguro sa application. I don't know anything about slicks or semi-slicks, but am happy with my Michellin cross-country tires and my Kenda Kinetics heavy-duty off-road tires.

don't want to disappoint you but the UP Diliman run is basically a conditioning exercise...the oval, some a cool zigzag downhill and some minor uphill challenges, and no real trails to speak of. but for the most part, the air there is clear with some interesting views on two legs once in a while ;)

san mateo is the trail destination I'm considering and a friend kind enough to invite me along, is just waiting for a signal...nakakahiya lang, mga long-distance trailers na kasi sila. pero ewan ko ha, tanongin ko siya uli kung puede mag-exploratory trail lang ang mga newbie katulad ko hehehe...doon naman, saturdays ang pulongan sa san mateo. balak ko sa Saturday the 26th of July.

please tell me who's interested para ma coordinate ko.

this sunday, will try my best kasi mang gagaling pa ako sa Visayas, but will try to be back by Saturday.
