Nope pero chicks ang pinaguusapan hahaha
I change to lighter gears tuwing uphill. Pero walang granny gear.
Have to come up with a fabricated spare tire rack soon. Bugbog sidings ng auto ko sa mga bike namin.

Gulliver,
I'm thinking of fabricating my own spare tire rack. Gonna use it on my Gen 1 RAV.

very nice bikes, are you in the US?... lots of choices!!! and cheaper compared to Manila.
US is the best place to buy bikes!
Gulliver,
got your PM, okay ka din, ang bilis mo magpalit ng bike!
Regarding your giant: some people dont mind the brand as long as its light and suited for them... I like Cannondale coz they have a small front suspension (pbone and not the lefty) which is suited for onroad with light offroad use.... kung baga, the bike is comfortable and not set for racing which is perfect for my heavy weight and use.... if you compare it to a car, its like a crossover car like CRV, RAV, etc.
If your looking for a hardtail... some like the GT hardtail coz of its design (they claim its the most rigid)... Im not an expert, but I do look out for weight.
Im not into extreme bikes (full suspension) though I want to try one downhill!... kaya tama si litespeed... have a bike for downhill, another for road, etc. at least no compromises!... but if I do that... wala din pera =)

pay Thule a visit (greenhills in front of diamond motors or on p. guevarra), they have a rack that uses the tire carrier ng vehicle sa likod. baka magustuhan mo pero parang mahal. or you can base your DIY project on their design.
i finally decided today on a roof bike rack from Thule. they have a new model na 3k lang! Half of what I thought their cheapest rack would cost. So now, I can carry one bike on the roof (pag kailangan), and the other on the bed strapped down (the usual) this way, no punching holes in the bed, tapos may flexibility pa ako. magkaproblema lang kong kailangan mag dala ng 3rd bike ng kaibigan! :D i post ko sana pix sa box niya, but down ang pbase right now. maybe tomorrow
kishyn
yup, from John at extreme, 15k ang frame. it was an inch (17) larger than the scott, bigger tires +disc brakes but still weighed only 1 lb more than the scott (of course linipat ko ang marzocchi sa giant, hehehe...my wife doesn't miss it naman, at nag enjoy naman siya kahapon. she especially liked the deore system coz like me, we both held gear shifters last when "sungay" style pa sila:D
cta2
i'm not a connoissieur of mtbs but i think i like my bike (have to kasi wala ng pera pang palit!!!) wala pa naman akong bad back so john recommended the hard tail. i took his advice na lang, besides i like buying from his shop, ok sila ni liezl :D sila john mahilig pala mag trail sa Tanay, usually mga 4 hour stints back & forth. nakaka-aliw din mga kwento nila.

dont get me wrong... Im not a connoissieur... Im not even an expert!
Your bike is hot! Actually, both of your bikes are hot!
My 1st Mt Bike is an all out taiwan (15 years ago) bought in Dao... quite light and I liked it... my 2nd bike (2 years after) is a chopsey Japan components customized (by Nonets, if anyone still knows him)... then stopped and grew up... sold it!
4 years ago, out of the biking loop and 50 pounds heavier... bought a whole set, thinking it was Japanese... it was Japanese look lang pala... kaya sa sama ng loob ko (coz I dont know which are originals anymore) I bought direct sa US which turned out to be cheaper...
Kaya bias ako sa US brands like yours... may sama ako ng loob sa Philippine shops na dinaya ako.... Remember I was telling you before to watch out for rebadge or fake components... I just read a lot of magazines, tapos indent order... Giants are great! and so many other US brands.
BTW - Im not against Taiwan brands... nasa lakas yan ng biker at hindi dahil sa bike

someones are (at last!) loudly asking, "why did they turn off the countdown timers?"
SC (temporarily) stops NCAP
