i have a migraine for almost 8 years now. pag sumakit, talagang bagsak ako and no amount of pain killers can ease the pain.
but here is what i do:
a. upon sensing that there is a big headache coming up, i take two advils.
b. i try to put an icepack over my head, my "batok" and my eyes.
try to avoid the triggers. ako, i am triggered by hunger, heat and MSG.

siguro lahat tayo nakakaranas ng migraine... mas maganda ipatingin sa doctor para malaman ang underlying cause... whag basta basta kumain ng over the counter pills...
pero most of the time eh cause niyan ay stress... para sa akin, spa lang solution niyan...

Thats what I thought also, until I looked at the literature of
some migraine meds. Would you believe one of the key ingredients
is caffeine!
A doctor-friend of mine expained that caffeine helps daw to
open up the blood vessels in the head relieving stress, or
something to that effect.
My migraine is usually triggered by change of temperature:
yung init-lamig, init-lamig (aircon bldg/car then suddenly
stepping out to warm/humid streets).
Kung may kamag-anak ka sa States, pabili ka ng Exedrine.
Its a very good migraine med, ewan ko lang kung meron
local counterpart dito, pero yung sa States effective talaga!

make sure it's really a migraine first. you did the right thing by going to an eye doctor first and eliminating eye problems as a probable cause, but there could be so many other ailments that can cause recurring headaches...kung hindi ka pa nadidiagnose with migraines you may need to see a neurologist first.
kung migraine talaga the only relief that my friend's neurologist told her was to take tylenol and lie in a quiet dark room for awhile. definitely no working, and definitely no PC or TV time.

1 month? is it even physically possible to stand that kinda pain?
i migraine is a severe pain and 3 days of that can make you crazy, literally.
the longest migraine that i had was 2003 december...and it wasnt just a simple migraine...but MENINGITIS.
My mom and I get migraines every month nung nanjan pa kami sa pinas because of the weather. kumbaga, yan ang "monthly period" ko.
tylenol...pnstan..hindi na gumagana samin ng mom ko. MOTRIN na ang iniinom namin pag 2 days nang masakit at hindi nawawala sa tulog.
pero sabi nga nila...if you want the best and the most natural medicine...ORGASM. im not kidding.

this is what i'm saying - sometimes we self diagnose and we dont get the proper specialists to look at it and give us the right care. god forbid, it's an undiagnosed brain tumor or something :pope:
pero sabi nga nila...if you want the best and the most natural medicine...ORGASM. im not kidding.
