go to cartimar. my friends go there for their biking needs. but honestly, your budget is low unless you want that "generic" MTB.

one of those friends of mine is actually selling his MTB for 15K. it is second hand and doesnt look extraordinary. so imagine what 10K bike will look like.

Go to King's Bikeshop in Quiapo. They are the best and cheapest bike shop in Metro Manila.
They can build you a decent bike with your set budget.

8-10K won't be enough if you'll use the bike as hobby. Start with a 15K budget. Then just upgrade when you think you can sustain this hobby.

Put3,- e papaano na ang P1.8K na bike ko?.... :hysterical:

Anyway, I remember meeting the GM For Asia of SRAM, Taiwan, in one of our functions in Beijing, China last Aug., 2008. SRAM is one of the biggest, if not the biggest, bike subcontractors in Taiwan.

I showed him a picture of my bike and he, not recognizing any branded part (except for the saddle, which is a Schwinn) said that "I needed to upgrade", offering a toast with me... :hysterical:

^^^ Yup, like I was being offered a second hand bike for P75K, (and to join them), by a group of bikers in one of the more affluent villages in Alabang....

i-google mo ang king's bike shop na nasa quiapo. . .i think me binebenta sila na built bikes selling for 9k or 10k. . ."trail ready" na raw yun, but expect to replace some parts in the near future

o, pwede kang magtyaga sa sulit.com. . .the components of the bikes that sell for the same price are better, 2nd hand nga lang

    good luck

sa may SFDM, i forgot the name, nagpaquote ako ng hindi china MTB. Shimano parts din, mga 33K. so dala ka lang mga 40k ok ka na.

Naghahanap ako ng japan surplus bike na Bridgestone, I had one before (around 15yrs ago), I bought it for 1.2k. Naka-fanbelt drive sya, tapos ang transmission nasa loob ng axle being controlled by a pushrod. Napaka-comfortable mag-cruise sa bicycle na yon.

you might be talking of Newton Multi Sales sa San Francisco del Monte... sila ang distributor ng Cannondale and Fuji Bikes dito sa Pinas.

i suggest go to reputable bike shops, yung iba kasi pag nalaman na wala kang alam sa bike kung ano ilalagay. kings sa quiapo, ross sa cartimar are ok. they are cheaper compared to boutique bike shops kung naghahabol ka ng budget.

better budget 15k just to be sure. it does not end in getting the bike, you have to have helmet, water bottle or hydration pack, gloves etc

a bmw bike is just for display, i mean i wouldnt buy a car made by nokia unless bmw subcontracted a bike manufacturer then just put a bmw sticker
