di nagkasundo sa hatian sa revenue sa HBO-PPV. Dela Hoya wants 70-30 but Pacman's camp wanted 60-40. Malaking pera din kasi involved. Estimated to be shared is $100M. So, it's a matter of $10M difference.

hahaha.. di na nga tuloy. humirit kasi yung kampo ni de la hoya ng 70-30 na hatian or no deal.. de-depend na lang nya yung title nya kay sotto..

    NO DEAL

“Pero, life will go on, I will move on and look for other fight.”

“The deal we were working on was a lot of money for both guys. The question is what is a fair split? I thought somewhere between 30 and 40 percent for Manny was fair,” pahayag ni Bob Arum ng Top Rank na siyang promoter ni Pacquiao.

“Richard and I had a good meeting and we resolved the other issues,” paliwanag ni Arum. “Oscar wanted 70-30 and Richard and I figured that there would be room for movement. Oscar was supposed to come in [to Los Angeles] this week to meet with Richard in person, but he didn’t make it and had to do it on the telephone. Oscar was adamant about it being 70-30 or no deal. Richard told me that and that I transmitted it to Pacquiao and his people in the Philippines. They told me that there was no deal and to look to make another fight.”

“Pacquiao has an adviser and lawyer, [Franklin “Jeng” Gacal] who basically is caught up in percentages. But if you go buy a car or a house or food do you pay in percentages or in money? The answer is you pay in currency not in percentages. I hope this has properly been explained to Manny,” pahayag ni Schaefer.

they had a deadlock before sa PPV split... Dela Hoya wanted 70/30 while Pacman wanted a 60/40 split.

There are two proposals that came up after the deadlock. One is 63/37 (?) and the other one came from Roach. Roach's proposal is 60/30 split and the winner of the match gets the disputed 10%. For a $100M PPV to split, that would be $10M additional "purse money". This would make the fight much interesting.

Los Angeles, CA: ABC Channel 7 based in Los Angeles, this afternoon officially announced that the long awaited Oscar de la Hoya- Manny Pacquiao fight is officially on.

Rob Fukuzaki, Channel 7’s sports anchor reported that official announcements will be forthcoming tomorrow, Thursday August 28th before noon in Los Angeles.

No announcements however were made regarding the financial split of the much discussed fight. Neither Top Rank or the GBP are saying anything until tomorrow. (August 28th)

De la Hoya reportedly will drop to 147 pounds for the fight, a weight level the Golden Boy himself said will be no problem for him to attain.

PhilBoxing attempted to get info from Pacquiao insiders based in California. They too indicated that they do not have details and are also waiting for tomorrow to learn the details.

One insider who is based in northern California however continued to express concern about the great discrepancy in size and weight between the Golden Boy and the Pacman.

But, for whatever it is worth, he also mentioned that he will be wishing for a victory for the Pacman to seal his legacy in the sweet science.

The Dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight will serve at the “farewell fight” of the Golden Boy. It will be held on December 6, 2008 at the MGM Hotel Casino Resort in Las Vegas and it is projected by those in the know in the fight business to be a big money maker, potentially giving Pacquiao a purse close to 15 million dollars.

If pushed through as all indications shows, the projected earnings indeed it will make it a “golden” farewell for the Golden Boy, earning him much more than what he made when he fought Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather..

. .well, para sa kanya, matuloy lang 'tong laban na 'to, kahit 30% lang ke pacman e buhay na buhay na rin sya. . .

Big Question ay kung kayanin ni Pacman ang hectic schedule nya for this fight. December na 'to and he will be busy for the November Presidential election! :peace:
