But pon checking the web, there was no scientific studies about alkaline water. And all there is are testimonials from those drinking alkaline water.

kangen is one expensive water system that convert tap water to alkaline BUT its the expensive among those brands in the market. we are using IZUMI that cost only 35k. there are so many health benefits from alkaline water BUT as what i learned from my colleagues in Japan, you MUST consume it (instead of putting in a fridge) within the day to be more effective.

ang alam ko dyan e "an alkaline body is less prone to deseases compared to an acidic body" (this is highly debatable!), pero drinking alkaline water has nothing to do with having an alkaline body. diet yan, less meat, more fish, less sweets, more vegetables. search mo sa web pards, "diet alkaline body". how to know if your body is alkaline or acidic, test your urine with litmus paper. blue = alkaline, pink = acidic.

importante yan alkaline/acidic body if you are trying to choose the *** of your baby. a woman needs to have an acidic body to concieve a girl, an alkaline body to concieve a boy. why? X-chromosome sperm cells (girl) thrive in an alkaline uterus but die off in an acidic one and Y-chromosome sperm cells (boy) thrive in an alkaline uterus but die off in an acidic one. subok ko na yan, i have 3 girls and 1 boy. plus timing and some other things of course. di kami nag-try ni misis for the "last hurrah" until her body was super alkaline (ph >9).

Just like mineral water. Why do you need minerals and vitamins in your water if you're already eating properly?

And excessive consumption of mineral water is bad for your kidneys.

Alkaline water is okay naman, but you don't really need it. Proper diet lang yun.

Just came back from Ace Hardware to buy some filters for my water filtration system. Pwede ko daw gawin alkaline water yung tubig ko by just replacing the filter in my RO. The filter just costs 1.8K (or was it 2.8K)

Exactly. And that so called alkaline water is just gonna pass through the stomach. Then guess what happens to its pH.
If a person really wants to raise body pH, he's much better off taking sodium bicarbonate... But then I really wouldn't recommend messing with body pH unless there's a need for it. It just messes up with enzymes, metabolism & excretion.

Actually, any container would be able to do that. All It just does is mix air with water. Nothing special.

Alkaline water is just a marketing gimmick.

How was the demo done? They placed your water in a glass and placed a device with two metal electrodes in it and suddenly the water starts to turn a difference color?

Nothing happened to the water, their device just measured the voltage. They used a voltmeter measuring millivolts.

Then they put a few drops of something into the water that changed the color of the water samples, indicating the pH level. Blue for alkaline and yellow for acidic.

Bromothymol blue maybe? But then again, chemicals you'd test it for are practically neutral.
