Allopurinol is suffice for chronic gouty arthritis. No need take Naproxen (Naproxene- Brand name yata 'to ) with Allopurinol since bale wala na rin yung analgesic effect niya kung mababa na rin yung uric acid made by Allopurinol. Colchicine can also be taken for acute attacks.

Welcome to the club! I had my first gout attack last year. One morning when I woke up my right big toe hurt like it was twisted or broken. I thought injury lang from jogging or dahil bago slippers ko (lol) eh lalong namaga at hindi ko na mailakad. Worse I couldn't even slip under the bed sheet as it would cause sever pain. I was given allupurinol to reduce uric acid and cataflam 50 for the swelling amd pain. It did not recur ever since but now I can feel mild pain in different joints that goes on and off. It is hereditary and and I got it from my mom. Im trying to avoid internal organs, beer, nuts, all kinds of shells (esp tahong) and mushrooms. But the operative word is "trying".

    Uric Acid reduction in blood

In a controlled study involving rats, extracts from P. pellucida were administered and uric acid levels were monitored. The study have shown that rats that were subjected to pansit-pansitan extract indicated a 44% reduction of uric acid level in blood while those that are given allopurinol drug have shown 66% reduction in uric acid level. This results show that pansit-pansitan may contain compounds that maybe used as alternative to allopurinol to control uric acid levels in the blood.
