Our current healthcard is Medicard. It's better than Philamcare. We have no experience with Caritas yet. There are other healthcard companies. Shop around and compare.
sir, what makes you say Medicard is better than Philamcare? coverage? premiums? ...Originally Posted by j_avonni

Usually, the card will have a doctor that acts as 'coordinator' for that hospital. If you get admitted, dapat sa doctor ng Caritas or sa napili ng coordinator. Of course, this varies from institution to institution. May mga sariling in house policies din sila.
May sarili silang doctor for admissions. Pero they will inform your attending so he can attend to you sa umaga. And if the attending thinks that you are an emergency case (e.g. AP), kailangan niya talagang gumising at pumunta sa ospital.
Ano ba ginawa sa iyo? Sa Fatima? Diyan nagtatrabaho father ko. hehehe.

kaya nga ako start ng thread j-avonni para macompare yung iba. care to PM me how much premium mo and corresponding coverages. tia.
tep, it has something to do with uric acid in my body. ER ako nung july 21 sa sobrang sakit ng right side of my body. under observation ako for 2 days. but the final procedure was done at manila doctors after a week kasi walang facilities ang fatima.
we had the same problem. mahilig ka ba uminom, mahilig ka kumain ng taba o matataba pagkain at mas gusto mo nestea kaysa water. I got confined for a week bec. of that. a week later eto na naman ako inom, suka, spicy food sa isang birthday. then back to the hospital for the third week.Originally Posted by niwde11

I finally eliminated the pain when I accidentally joined a gym for another reason and started running the 30-minutes threadmill non-stop 6 days a week for more than a year. lahat ata ng dapat ilabas sa body nailabas ko na noon, pati cancer cells na din siguro hehehe.
you'll know pag naglalabas ka na toxins, parati ka uhaw and hindi mo kelangan pwersahin sarili mo to follow the eight glasses of water each day.
nope, i wish malakas ako uminom. kaya di ako madalas sumama pag may treat na friend. iced tea kasi ako nun since bawal soda. iwas na rin ako sa taba for the past three years. malakas ako sa seafood lalo na nung napunta ako sa US 2 years ago(potah, sarap ng sipit ng alaskan crab sa eat all you can nakaka 2 plate ako ng mga shell).Originally Posted by oldblue

this is what i lack. exercise. i'll try to follow tong recommend mo. yun din sabi nung nurse after my procedure. jogging daw ako para daw lumabas yung mga uric. that makes sense. thanks oldblue.I finally eliminated the pain when I accidentally joined a gym for another reason and started running the 30-minutes threadmill non-stop 6 days a week for more than a year. lahat ata ng dapat ilabas sa body nailabas ko na noon, pati cancer cells na din siguro hehehe.

based on our experience, okay naman caritas... so far...
they have good (accredited) doctors and hospitals nationwide na pwede mo pagpilian in non-emergency cases.. free annual exam, dental and eye care. though may limitations din depende sa plan mo..
meron din caritas kasambahay namin at naoperahan sya last year.. wala kami binayaran hospital bills (except 3k difference ng room rate from double to solo)..
health cards are very useful. I got hospitalized 3 times since I graduated. if not for these, baka baon na ako sa utang. first time was 1997, umabot almost 100k bill ko, medicines, room and 2 weeks stay sa medical city. the last time, I was hospitalized for 3 days and nearing the amount I incurred last 97. (around 70k) grabe! pati ospital may inflation.
I never paid a single cent coz it was an executive health card of my dad extended to family members.
plus you get free 2 propylaxis treatments each year, a free full health check-up every year din. and if you're in an accident kahit na unconscious ka, they'll admit you right away, no questions asked, basta card nasa wallet mo. at least that's how it was explained to me by the emergency doctor.
boss anong card ito???
imo, mas importante maginvest ka na lang sa annual check up... sa halagang 7k-8k annual check up, malalaman mo agad kung may sakit ka, di yung sa healthcard na antayin mo pa maospital ka... not unless may annual check up din siguro yung card mo, ok...

sir niwde11,
Signature
Originally Posted by boybi
banaweonline; ano card mo? me agent ka ba na mairerefer para madiscuss ng husto yung mga coverage. kung maganda yung agent mas ok.(j/k) for emergency purposes talaga kailangan ko. kahit wala ng life insurance. more of a hospital benefits kailangan ko.
sir niwde11,Originally Posted by niwde11

eto konti pang details.
philam health card
room rate 2.5th/ day
max limit 300,000.00
(includes dentist, cardio, ob-gyn, pedia, surgeon, anastesiologist, etc...)
she pays around 2-3th per month for her, mine and our 2 kids.
everytime may check up ang mga kids sa pedia, free. we pay for the injections lang.
she got free ob-gyn free check up nung pregnant sya with both kids.
anytime may problem with health, go agad kami st. lukes e.r., free (pati medicines).
last year, general check up ako (blood test, ecg, 2d echo, treadmill, ultasound, x-ray, etc.), free. (saw the bill, 12,000.00 lahat)
kaya i suggest check mo muna sa hmo kung ano ang benefits nila before you make a decision...
sir kimpoy,
so far, sa st. lukes kami, no problem.
