Our current healthcard is Medicard. It's better than Philamcare. We have no experience with Caritas yet. There are other healthcard companies. Shop around and compare.

May mga hindi kasi covered ng health card na doctor. Usually, the card will have a doctor that acts as 'coordinator' for that hospital. If you get admitted, dapat sa doctor ng Caritas or sa napili ng coordinator. Of course, this varies from institution to institution. May mga sariling in house policies din sila.
May sarili silang doctor for admissions. Kung sa ER, siyempre kung sino ang duty sa ER. Emergency iyon, eh. O kung dis-oras ka ng gabi na-admit and hindi naman emergency, yung duty resident/intern/medical clerk ang maaring tumingin muna sa iyo. Pero they will inform your attending so he can attend to you sa umaga. And if the attending thinks that you are an emergency case (e.g. AP), kailangan niya talagang gumising at pumunta sa ospital.
Ano ba ginawa sa iyo? Sa Fatima? Diyan nagtatrabaho father ko. hehehe.

health cards are very useful. I got hospitalized 3 times since I graduated. if not for these, baka baon na ako sa utang. first time was 1997, umabot almost 100k bill ko, medicines, room and 2 weeks stay sa medical city. the last time, I was hospitalized for 3 days and nearing the amount I incurred last 97. (around 70k) grabe! pati ospital may inflation.
I never paid a single cent coz it was an executive health card of my dad extended to family members.
plus you get free 2 propylaxis treatments each year, a free full health check-up every year din. and if you're in an accident kahit na unconscious ka, they'll admit you right away, no questions asked, basta card nasa wallet mo. at least that's how it was explained to me by the emergency doctor.

I finally eliminated the pain when I accidentally joined a gym for another reason and started running the 30-minutes threadmill non-stop 6 days a week for more than a year. lahat ata ng dapat ilabas sa body nailabas ko na noon, pati cancer cells na din siguro hehehe.
you'll know pag naglalabas ka na toxins, parati ka uhaw and hindi mo kelangan pwersahin sarili mo to follow the eight glasses of water each day.

based on our experience, okay naman caritas... so far...
they have good (accredited) doctors and hospitals nationwide na pwede mo pagpilian in non-emergency cases.. free annual exam, dental and eye care. though may limitations din depende sa plan mo..
meron din caritas kasambahay namin at naoperahan sya last year.. wala kami binayaran hospital bills (except 3k difference ng room rate from double to solo)..
