Malaking breakthrough po ang 90% effectiveness sa 3rd clinical trial dahil 44,000 po ang participants.

Ang sabi raw ay magsisimula na sila ngayong taon para sa mass vaccination.

    Magandang balita po yan.
    i am curious.
did they define what their "90% effectiveness" means?

if you use the 200 shots to immunize 200 people, you might end up with 200 people who are still capable of getting infected by covid. sayang lang.

but i am just assuming here.
the manufacturer hasn't yet (?) announced what the effect will be, if one is given only one of two requisite doses.
    Syempre dadating ung 2nd dose

3 weeks daw ang pagitan ng 2 dose

    sobrang selan ung vaccine

anyway it doesn't matter... it's highly unlikely naman we're gonna get that pfizer/biontech vaccine anytime soon

Kung Nakagawa sila ng "90% effective vaccines", handling would not be a problem, I guess.

... for nations that are well-equipped to distribute such a medicine which requires to be stored at -70C ... but for tropical nations with lesser facilities ... it won't be so easy ...

Dito I agree with uls, mahirapan tayo sa logistic. I don't think kahit ibang 1st class country meron ganyan storage dito pa kaya sa atin.

Seven straight days of 100k new cases/ day in US of A. Just to think the PH "recorded" active cases is 30k...

Dire Records: 100,000 US Cases For Seven Straight Days; 59,000 In Hospital | Kaiser Health News

Deaths over the week to Nov. 10 increased 15%, or more than 6,600 people, over the previous week. That was the highest one-week total since mid-August, taking the overall death toll for the pandemic to more than 238,000.

Worryingly for officials, health experts say the death toll tends to spike four to six weeks after a surge in infections.

as we all know sa clinical trial meron control group (those who receive placebo)

nagkaroon ng 94 cases ng covid among the participants

86 of those were in the control group

so it's safe to say the vaccine works

Pinaka simply na pagka intindi ko, 90% effective yung vaccine nila sa total population, 10% ay still nahawaan pa rin ng covid after vaccine...

    yes parang ganun

sa clinical trial na yan karamihan ng nagka-covid ay mga hindi nakatanggap ng bakuna (placebo lang)

may iilan lang ang nagka-covid sa mga nakatanggap ng bakuna

so that means the vaccine is effective in preventing covid sa majority

Is that how vaccine should work at 90% effectiveness or should be perfect 100% compared with other known vaccines.

If 90% of the population will be immune... then eventually mawawala na itong covid-19 after yung 10% maka survive which they will have enough antibodies and the rest will die...
