Moderna's vaccine also uses mRNA technology
expect Moderna to have same positive results
Expect mRNA based vaccines to be very hard to transport, as it can only be stored in temps less than -70°C.
Easy enough for continental EU and US, but for archipelagos like ours, it will be a huge logistical problem.
For comparison, a Coleman cooler, with plenty of ice, can go no lower than -5°C.

doc I follow the advice nugn doctor sa san lazaro hospital. More than a decade ago, sinamahan ko kababata ko dahil kinalmot ng kuting. Yes a kuting!!!! So pag punta namin eh the advice is to observe the kitten if mamatay within 2 weeks or kill it get the head. My kababata chose to paturok kahit ayaw ni doctor. But there are cases na talaga tinangihan ni sanlazaro doc kasi wala talaga risk and para hindi masayang yung vaccine.
I do believe na effective si anti-rabies. Because it was created at a time of true survival.
But this covid....... my mind is imagining things.
So i will just build my immune system pero ngayon araw pumalya na ako. Napakain kasi ako ng taro puff & xiao long bao ang sheeerap!!! It contains wheat and maybe soy - two na iniwasan ko na nakakahina sa immune system ko.
And remember the yestercentury. The fandemic of 19something just fan away. No bakuna needed. Maybe this covid mag fan away din.
So be happy philippines na hindi tayo mauuna sa vaccine. Ang mauuna mga first world country. Sila ang live trial.
i appreciate peoples' posts.
i don't mind if they re-iterate previous points.

Any hope that this covid virus would mutate into a less deadlier version especially for seniors and pre existing illness people who got infected?

The new vaccine is a German drug developed in cooperation with Pfizer. Germany gave aid grants to Biontech, while Trump didn't give a single penny.

This vaccine requires 2 doses, 3 weeks apart. How sure kaya ang availability ng second dose? What happens if you missed the 2nd dose? Mag 2 dose ulit?

^palagay ko, no appointment for the first time kung hindi complete ang 2doses for the each individual. Baga bilhin mo na dalawa. Dunno shelf life kung aabot ng 3 looong weeks.

Why Pfizer’s ultra-cold COVID-19 vaccine will not be at the local pharmacy any time soon | Reuters
Given the ultra low temps needed for storage beyond 15 days and the 3 week spacing between doses I don't think they can store the same batch for each person's 2 doses. They can be kept in an ultra-low temperature freezer for up to six months, or for five days at 2-8 degrees C – a type of refrigeration commonly available at hospitals, Bencker said.
The Pfizer storage units can also be refilled with ice for up to 15 days, she said.
But shots will spoil in around five days at normal refrigeration temperatures of slightly above freezing. BioNTech CEO Ugur Sahin told Reuters the companies are analyzing if they can extend that for two weeks.
The other similar vaccines can be stored in regular ref units.
The vaccine of Moderna Inc, which is working on a vaccine based on similar technology, does not need to be stored at such a low temperature.
Other vaccines including ones from Johnson & Johnson and Novavax Inc can be stored at 2-8 degrees C, the temperature of a regular refrigerator.
tingin ko they won't reserve a 2nd dose for you if you avail of the 1st dose
ung ganyan kaselan na vaccine di tinatago nang matagal dapat gamitin agad
ung 2nd dose mo will come from a new batch and it's your responsibility to show up for the 2nd dose
Brazil Halts China Vaccine Trial After Serious Adverse Event - Bloomberg
Politics could have played into this...Testing of Sinovac Biotech Ltd.’s vaccine, called Coronavac, has been halted in Brazil after an event that occurred on Oct. 29, said the Brazil Health Agency on Tuesday, without giving any further detail on what happened. The study is interrupted in accordance with regulations while the agency analyzes if the study should continue, it said.
Sao Paulo’s Instituto Butantan, which partnered with Sinovac to produce the vaccine locally, said in a statement it was surprised by the decision and is looking into details of what happened in the study. Director Dimas Covas said in a TV interview that one volunteer in the trial has died, but that the death is not related to the vaccine.
