European governments will pay claims above an agreed limit against AstraZeneca over side-effects from its potential COVID-19 vaccine, under different terms to a deal struck with Sanofi, an EU official told
Reuters.

Under the deal, AstraZeneca would only pay legal costs up to a certain threshold, the official said, declining to elaborate on how the costs would be shared with individual European governments or the cap.

As part of the supply deals, the only two sealed so far by Brussels, the EU has also made a non-refundable downpayment of 336 million euros to AstraZeneca to secure 400 million doses, proportionately lower than the 324 million euros it paid to Sanofi to secure 300 million doses.

The EU official told Reuters that the contract with AstraZeneca included a narrow definition of side-effects that could limit the possibility of claiming compensation although the company remains liable for its vaccine.

Kahapon dun sa isang resto sa Vertis North... Ang ingay ng isang grupo ng mga BPOs. Tapos na sila kumain pero ang lakas ng halakhakan. Ako I keep reminding everybody lalo na sa mga employees, nakatiis na tayo ng 6 months at nakaligtas hinde nagkasakit, ngayon pa na matatapos na pandemic and magkakaroon na ng vaccine saka mahahawa, huwag sayangin yun pagod saka sacrifices.

Parang mga katulong I keep remindinf them na magsuot ng mask ang shield pag tatanggap ng deliveries but nakikita ko sa CCTV mask na lang sinusuot.

I’m just glad sa team namen sa office wala nag cocommute, as much as possible I avoid leaving the room.

Hassle lang twice na kame napasukan ng confirmed case na employee sa kwarto. so pissed.

Policy kase if meron ka pending PCR test na wala pa result, wag ka papasok, langya twice na nangyari samen nagugulat na lang kame the next day kasama kame sa contact tracing at mandatory 14 days home quarantine.

May policy, wala parusa kamote hindi tuloy sineseryoso.

Hirap talaga bantayan. Binili ko na nga ng hair clipper lahat ng lalaki na stay in para lang di na magpagupit sa labas.

Wala kasi dating sa kanila pag di nila nakikita mga naospital or namatay. Kelangan pa pakitaan ng litrato ng naka ventilator at obituary.
