A total of 4,339 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 100 out of 109 current operational labs.
DOH likewise announces 727 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 114,114.
Note:
Of the 4,339 reported cases today, 3,213(74%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 7-20, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,737 or 54%), Region 4A (462 or 14%) and Repatriates (442 or 14%.)
Of the 88 deaths, 40 (45%) in August, 27 (31%) in July, 19 (22%) in June, and 2 (2%) in May. Deaths were from Region 7 (42 or 48%), NCR (34 or 39%), Region 6 (5 or 6%), Region 4A (4 or 5%), Region 9 (1 or 1%), Region 1 (1 or 1%), and CAR (1 or 1%.)
There were ninety-one (91) duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, forty-three (43) recovered cases have been removed.
Moreover, there were fifty-one (51) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths (50) and active (1) cases.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
