when we were trainees,
there was this consultant, who insisted we wash hands after every single patient examined...
and a colleague, who said that his children's colds diminished, when he started doing the habit of taking off his shoes before he entered his house when he got home.

bat naman tayo maghuhugas nang madalas,
kung wala naman ibang tao sa bahay o workplace kundi tayo lang...
at wala namang humahawak ng pridyider, talepono, at banyo natin kundi tayo lang...

but that last one about avoiding face touching..
that's hard!

btw,
would you agree, that the ballpen is considered a personal item, and it is better if we did not lend ours to others, nor we borrow anothers'...?

that would depend on what you are surrounded with.
for all i know, you touch more people than i do...

if strict science is to be believed,
wash hands after coming into physical contact with every single body that is even remotely suspect of harboring infectious disease agents.
the same, with objects these folks came in contact with. cleaning and dis-infecting these commonly-handled objects regularly, should help.
doctor or layman. the trigger points are the same. you touch someone suspect, you wash your hands afterward.

biohazard policy is tough.
what practices we see around us, are ... a compromise.

so no. i can not give you a definite number.
you will have to practice your own sense of judgement.

Yuen, a leading microbiologist and infectious-diseases expert at the University of Hong Kong, said many of the21 patients found to be infected in the city had not visited the mainland recently.

He said he was convinced a local outbreak had started, and human-to-human transmission was taking place within the city. Yuen said every measure should be taken to minimise the spread, including further border closures.

Six people in the city have been diagnosed with the coronavirus over the past two days, five of whom had not left the city recently. Of the 21 cases in total, eight were believed to have no travel history relevant to the coronavirus.

“The local transmission chain has begun, and if we do nothing to control it, Hong Kong will become like some mainland city that has suffered lots of cases,” Yuen said.

Sabi ng ibang pinoy bat di na lang dito magproduce para walang over dependence sa China.

All I can say is its easier said than done, hirap kaya magmanage ng pinoy workforce locally.

it makes for heftier profits.

Blame it on travel expos and cheap piso fares... hehehe. Travel is cheaper and more accessible (online purchasing than through travel agent) than it was in 2003.

even if you make your products here in PH, you need parts / raw materials parin that should be imported
