At least the new deaths have been in the single digits for three consecutive days... Early detection= better recoveries.

More people are now moving and crossing city borders. Localized lockdown will work only if the govt has efficient trackers and mass testing.
We are a long way off what SK is doing.

So far all Duque's strategy isn't bearing the right success. Mass testing with 48 hour release of results, an effective tracing program and enough space for all minor and asymptomatic cases are still long way off.

mas worse sa OFW. 4 of my colleagues who managed to join a chartered flight 3 weeks ago are still quarantined in a coast guard facility in Dasma, Cavite. after the mandatory 14-days, they were tested negative but still awaiting for their release certificates from the bureau of quarantine. once they get a release certificate, they will be endorse to DILG which will coordinate to their respective LGU's of their arrival and who knows how long that would take again. torture ang umuwi so napapaisip ako, steady na lang muna at no rush going home

Here in our area, testing of 67 individuals was done today using the rapid test kit of Biolidics Ltd.

    Blood was extracted using fingerprick

Results were out in 10 minutes. Looked like a pregnancy test kit.

At the end of the day, all results were out. All are negative.

Of course the test is only as good as today. Hopefully accurate and hopefully these negative people stay negative.

Reposting from another doctor who was exposed to an asymptomatic carrier...

    (FROM AN ENT DOCTOR)

I was exposed to a positive covid patient sa clinic. Patient was asymptomatic. (Cleared by triage) Patient was in for a presumed fish bone ingestion complaining of pain on left side of neck. So i examined the patient with my gown, face shield, respiratory mask and gloves. I did not see anything. Patient was not satisfied. So i advised the patient for admission for IDS clearance for laryngoscopy. Patient ws eventually admitted, co managed with IDS consultant. Initial tests done: Rapid Ab test negative. PCR pending and chest ct scan negative So the next day patient wanted the procedure to be done already. PCR test still pending. I was given permission to do the procedure but will full PPE. Patient and S.O. irritable already. So we did the procedure with full PPE at the Endoscopy Unit. Patient was discharged few hours after the procedure. Then i got a call at 12 midnight that the PCR result of the patient was POSITIVE. Patient ws already discharged. So now im in QUARANTINE. Then i was tasked to inform the patient of the result at 1 am in the morning. The LGU of the patient was also informed of the result. I had myself tested at 2 am at the ER, which i had to pay for personally. The test cost 10k. Now im in quarantine waiting for my result. I chose to be tested ASAP, rather than wait for my quarantine to end.

Now my question: Are we really ready to go back to our clinics already? Are we all prepared? So many asymptomatic patients out there!! They can come to our clinics for different complaints. Even if we protect ourselves, we still have to go home to our families at the end of the day risking that exposure to them.

I’ve learned my lesson the HARD way. Hope you can learn something from my experience.😩
