Dapat isolation ward agad yung "suspected" patient while waiting for lab result...

Wuhan pneumonia outbreak: Thai man possibly infected, authorities investigating - CNA

BANGKOK: A Thai man has been detected with symptoms similar to those of coronavirus infection and is currently being monitored in an isolation room at a hospital in Nakhon Pathom near Bangkok, as health officials work to determine the cause of his conditions.
Pati medical workers nasali sa infected list...

New China virus: Fourth person dies as human-to-human transfer confirmed - BBC News

In a separate statement, the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission said at least 15 medical workers in Wuhan have also been infected with the virus, with one in a critical condition.

The workers presumably became infected with the virus due to contact with patients. All of them are being kept in isolation while being treated.

Nine deaths na... And the patogen is mutating, which will make it harder for existing antibiotics to deal with it.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-...SXptAEd2UW9G_A

The death toll has risen to nine with 440 confirmed cases, they said.

A National Health Commission official admitted that the country was now at the "most critical stage" of prevention and control.

"Though the transmission route of the virus is yet to be fully understood, there is a possibility of virus mutation and a risk of further spread of the epidemic," National Health Commission vice-minister Li Bin said in a news conference on Wednesday.

    Mons it's a virus

    antibiotics don't apply

coronaviruses are responsible for colds and other respiratory illnesses

what patients do is try to recover from it... hopefully

    symptom relief lang magagawa dyan

They haven't narrowed down the source...

China’s mystery coronavirus: everything you need to know from symptoms to treatment

China’s mystery new coronavirus has so far infected at least 440 people and killed nine, with the World Health Organization set to meet to determine whether the outbreak should be categorised as an international health emergency.

While the vast bulk of cases have been confined to China, cases in this fast-moving outbreak have now been found in the United States, Thailand, South Korea, Taiwan, Macau, Japan and the Philippines.

    How are coronaviruses transmitted?

Like other coronaviruses – such as the common cold – the virus is spread via droplets when a person coughs or sneezes.

It can also be spread when someone touches a contaminated surface such as a door handle.

Hospitals are also a key place for viruses to spread. When patients arrive in hospital with vague respiratory symptoms health workers may not know they need to take special precautions such as wearing masks. Other patients may also be at risk.

The outbreak is thought to have originated in a seafood market in Wuhan which also traded in other animals such as marmots and bats.

But what animal the disease originally came from is still unknown, as is how easily the disease spreads between people. WHO and the Chinese authorities initially said there was “limited” human-to-human transmission but the pace of the outbreak would suggest that it spreads more easily than first thought.

mainlanders kasi regularly come in close contact with live animals in their markets

and it's not only chickens... it's all sorts of animals

so viruses have a lot of opportunity to jump between species and mutate
