i spent a good afternoon, viewing the video.
the ff. are some of the points i found interesting.
apologies for the long post.

the bottom line of what dr. fauci was explaining,
is that the human race, at that time, did not have an anti-covid manual to guide them by.
they did not know yet of the covid virus.
they had no drugs against covid back then.
everything we now know about covid, including the drugs and vaccines, what worked, what seemed to work, what did not work but we used it anyway, everything had to be laboriously built from scratch.
thus, they resorted to initially adopting practices that seemed to work in the past, against similar infectious respiratory diseases as covid. it may have been guesswork, but it was educated guesswork.
hence the isolationing, the evasion of mass congregations, travel bans, the masking, the 6 foot perimeter, and the vaxxing.
we did not know what would work and what would not work. we just had to try it and find out.

about the vaxxing,
he explained that the vaccine, initially thought to be good, proved to have a non-durable long-term advantage, i.e., its benefits waned over time. and this was something that no one could possibly have predicted. we simply had to use it, then wait and see how it turned out.
but fauci strongly believes, that vaxxing effectively saved lives.

so where did covid come from?
he still believes it was a natural virus that jumped the species barrier.
is it possible that it is a man-made virus? "i keep an open mind", is what he says.

personally,
vaxx side effects?
a social scientist explained, that there are two ways the vaccine may be judged: immediately, as in now, and many years later.
"the mortality and morbidity that the covid vaccine wrought, appears to be horrible now, because it struck too close to home."
but decades from now, history will probably judge it in a more positive light, "like many successful vaccines, it saved many more lives than it killed".

did he make money for his covid efforts?
no, daw. only 100-200 dollars a year, from a patent he had devised many years ago, long before covid.

viewing the video,
fauci was interrupted one or two times, as he was attempting to answer the question asked of him.
the other party simply, in my view, wasn't too interested in the explanation. they were angry, and they were looking for somebody to blame.
one or two inquisitors, used their five minutes to narrate their negative opinions against him, and not ask any question.

is there a conspiracy?
he says no.
he and the other personalities had worked together from way back, in so many projects and researches, it is possible that when they communicated with each other from time to time, in whatever form or manner, written, electronic or smoke signal (heh heh), it can not be helped that some folks will think they were conspiring.

Last I checked the Bill of Rights is enshrined in the Constitution.

Same with the inherent powers of the State.

Plus do be reminded that the Bill of Rights are safeguards to the immense power of the state, meaning there is an acknowledgment that you are lucky the state made it possible to fight itself. Though the state is the people (but represented by those who won the elections).

cnrs appears to be reputable.
but as in all research, the conclusions are only as credible as the quality of the information they were based on.

granting that the information are real,
my personal query still begs, "were it a completely natural, spontaneous 'evolution', or did human hands nudge it along?"
