this is probably how the spanish flue of 1918 evolved...
i wonder, when will we stop testing?... ang mahal pa naman!
not to mention, lumalaki na ang nares at namamanhid na ang posterior nasopharyngeal wall...

    ayun

you finally got what i was saying since last year

this pandemic won't technically end if you keep swabbing and PCR-testing and sequencing

the gauge to declare the end of pandemic 100 yrs ago was simple -- people stopped dying

    now the gauge is what?

pag wala na nagpopositibo sa PCR?

kung yan ang guage this pandemic is never gonna end

Kagaguhan yang swab test waste of money. Pucha 2,500 tapos aalamin lang kung may sakit ka ano ba yan.

    put another way...

the flu virus that caused the 1918 to 1920 pandemic is said to be the ancestor of flu viruses we have today

if PCR technology was available back then, scientists would still be finding the virus well after 1920

they'll be tracking flu evolution all throughout the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s... up to today

that pandemic wouldn't have technically ended in 1920

pwede naman huwag nalang mag test

dati pag may sipon/trangkaso wala naman nagpapatest para malaman kung anong virus (rhinovirus, corona, RSV, parainfluenza, influenza etc)

we just let our immune system take care of it and never find out what specific virus caused it

Kawawa naman ang common flu at common cough, nawala sila sa mapa coz of PCR test

True, not just the hospitals but those businessmen who invested heavily in opening up molecular laboratory for those tests.
they would prefer to have a continuing flow of patients who needs to get tested for profit or to recuperate their investments

    chasing variants

    forever pandemic

THE PHILIPPINES has detected its first two cases of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.75, according to the Department of Health.

The two patients infected with the variant called Centaurus came from the Western Visayas, Health officer-in-charge Maria Rosario S. Vergeire told a news briefing on Tuesday. Both have recovered, she added.

What is the significance of reporting newer variants if it is not as deadly as the original wuhan or delta? I mean all existing current virus are mutating but we are not reporting it.

and before covid, when we get a respiratory infection (cold or flu), we don't need a confirmatory test to find out what specific virus is causing it

we just let our immune system take care of it

inom lang gamot for symptom relief

    pero ngayon kailangan magpa-swab

    arte arte na ngayon

grabe naman ang media, they always call the newer variants more scary, more transmissible, possibly even deadlier than the previous variants.

The seniors here had their pneumonia shots and I asked the doctor when they can get their booster for covid and he said ASAP kasi 6 million vaccines daw will expire this August and DOH did NOT procure additional vaccines so baka maubusan na! Ang protocol daw talaga 2 weeks after but don't follow that anymore!

Now I am confused if I should follow that and lie sa screening na they had pneumonia vaccine hehe
