I wasn’t expecting the vaccines to offer a protection that long since all vaccines never went through the normal 5 year experimental stage. We are all in clinical trials & we cannot be at ease. We still have to protect ourselves. My plan is to get immunized now with what the country has to offer, then when the preferred types are more available, to shift to those.
I am also glad for the wealth of info we get in social media (tsikot included). Last year, we knew virtually nothing about it. I have friends who died because they didn’t know any better.
One had his whole family infected & he was the casualty because he made the trip to the province & his driver was a carrier. Many I know got rid of their drivers after that. More than a year into this, we learned a lot so all of you should hang in there.

Yung natural antibiotic ko na ginamit fermented garlic sa honey.. Not sure kung tanda nyo pa..

If they don't live with you and/or they come home to their family it's very high risk. My friend's whole family quarantined also because their maids would go home ONCE a week and the driver would bring them home pa para hindi nagco commute. But then sila sila nagka hawahan, drivers and maids. We've been tiis for more than a year now, ang hirap din walang help at home. Buti din pala hindi natuloy mag move in yung driver namin and his whole family (that was planned for May 2020) Yung Tita naman ng good friend ko doesn't go out din but got it from the caregiver or driver ata, she died during the peak last year
I have this feeling of doom na, is there an end in sight. Just got an update on our community sa US ang taas na ng vaccination rate (90% of seniors naka 1st dose na, 40% for 16 and up ) BUT WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
As of March 31, the seven-day rate of new cases per 100,000 residents is trending upward
The City’s seven-day moving average positivity rate increased to 2.52 percent compared to 0.88 percent one week ago. Local COVID-19 hospital admissions also rose.

a US lab released this:
they wanted to find out if vaccines based on Wuhan variant or antibodies developed from previous infection will be effective against a new variant (California variant) spreading across the US
They took plasma from vaccinated people / convalescent plasma (those recovered from natural infection) and exposed it to California variant -- they found reduced neutralization
evolution is relentless
^^^
they even tested antibody products (monoclonal antibodies) against California variant
wala... cannot neutralize
those products are still in clinical trial wala na kwenta
mas mabilis ang virus
There's no stopping nature from weeding out the weak. It's been happening since time immemorial and mankind is still not technologically advanced to overcome it.
The development of the vaccines was rushed but scientific rigor was not sacrificed in the process.
Were the COVID-19 vaccines rushed? Here's how the vaccines were developed so fast | Nebraska Medicine Omaha, NE
May time lag yang effect ng vaccination. It takes X number of days before the full proection kicks in - and full protection isnt 100% protection from being infected.
If a person, a couple of days after vaccination, became complacent and exposes himself to the public without mask of distancing, he can still be infected. My guess is this is what happened. IMO, mas pasaway mga maericans kesa sa atin when it comes to minimum health protocols.
even after the vaccine has kicked in (14 days after 2nd dose) you can still test positive sa swab
the vaccine doesn't make your ACE2 receptors disappear
kakapit parin ang virus
what the vaccine does is keep you out of the hospital

German experts say under 6 s should not get second AstraZeneca vaccine | Reuters
Germany’s vaccine commission, known as STIKO, recommended on Thursday that people under 60-years old who have had a first shot of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine should receive a different product for their second dose.
“Until the appropriate data is available, STIKO recommends for people under 60 years old that instead of the second AstraZeneca dose, a dose of an mRNA-vaccine should be given 12 weeks after the first vaccine,” STIKO said.
