    Peeps,

Need advice on what's a good carry/back-up (concealed) gun for daily use. Off hand I'm thinking of getting a Glock 19 or 26.

    Thanks in advance.

since glock ang preference mo e di glock 26.

i myself prefer 15 rounds in a back up/carry gun since by it's definition you won't have a spare magazine with you (i don't carry anymore, mahal na ang ptc e).

glock 26 would be the logical choice for both carry/back up gun, easily concealed and user friendly.

    Thanks for your replies.

Oo nga baka Gun Ban starting Jan 07 (kung may election) sayang ang PTC. Anyways baka i-delay ko na lang pag purchase ko ng Glock 19/26. I already have the G17.

Di ba malakas recoil ng G26?

Aside from Glocks what other brands (9mm) could I also look at? Primary consideration is the weight (polymer) and capacity.

    TY ulit!

    Thanks for the info

I visited trust trade earlier. They only have the G19C, out of stock na raw yung G26 and G19.

How about the Taurus 24/7? 2005 Gun of the Year daw yun.

    How do you guys carry?

    Peace!

Where I live, the People's Republik of Kalifornia, it is almost impossible to obtain a CCW license. It is even illegal to have a hi-cap magazine.

In short, I leave it at home or have it in the trunk of my car, locked. :evillaugh

you might wanna consider this.. very easy to conceal, kahit nga ibulsa ko sa jeans okay lang.. hehe

Taurus Millennium PT145 .45 ACP Pistol
"constructed with a hammer-forged slide and an injection-molded polymer frame, Taurus’ new Millennium PT145 is a pocket-size, extremely lightweight double-action-only autoloader in .45 ACP that weighs a mere 22.6 ounces. magazine load is 10+1."

    here's the actual pic;

sensya na, celfone lang ginamit ko pang-pic.. kasama pa yung yosi for size comparison..

The difference in recoil between the G19 and the G26 is negligible. Both are accurate guns as long as you put in the time to practice with them regularly.

I used to carry a Taurus Millennium (PT111) in 9mm when PTCs were still inexpensive. Tama si raikonen, kasya sya sa front pocket ng jeans o slacks pag naka pocket holster. Mas mabigat at mahaba lang ang trigger pull ng Taurus ko kaysa sa Glock. I don't know if they've improved this on the current Taurus models.

    Guys,

How much ba PTC? What gun shops would you recommend(QC/Ortigas/Makati area)? Kasi with Trust Trade dami nila customers so parang di ka nila gaano maasikaso.

if concealment is what you are after, you might want to look at this ultralight sig sauer P230. one of the lightest(AFAIR).

I am hesitant to suggest a gun I haven't handled personally, but from its specs, the Kahr PM9 is hard to beat in terms of concealabilility. It has a width of only 0.9 inches and it weighs only 15.9 ounces unloaded.

or another walther look-alike, the bersa .380 acp. if you load it with +P ammo you get the same 1050 fps muzzle velocity as a +P 9mm. lighter bullet nga lang at 90 grains.

    http://www.bersa-sa.com.ar/images/mod_380.jpg

this is the 7+1 model. the 15+1 model has a wrap-around grip. the width of the 7+1 and the 15+1 are the same and both models are available locally. the 7+1 weighs in at 23 ounces and the 15+1 at 26 ounces. there is also a polymer model but kakalabas lang so baka wala pa sa local dealers. i have the 15+1 variety. this is a very accurate gun. i can hit sub-1 inch groups at 25 yards on a rest.

i got mine 5 years ago from pb dionisio, mura pa nuon. actually my friend and i bought at the same time. i got the 15+1 for 17k, license included, he got the 7+1 for 13.5k with license. ngayon price is around 22k for the 15+1. it's very reliable, i had shot already more than 1000 rnds (150 rnds mix of different branded ammo and 800 rnds of reloads) and had not had any stoppage yet. also the recoil is very minimal. even my wife found it unintimidating when she fired a couple of hundred rounds through it (compared to when she fired my cz75 .40sw, 2 magazines lang ayaw na nya ehehehe, lakas daw recoil).

the 15+1 model comes with adjsutable rear sights and semi-wrap around rubber grips, the 7+1 has fixed sights and ordinary grips.

if you have doubts about bersa, try searching in the internet. 95% of the reviews i've seen are praises, even from reputable gun gurus.

check this website for one >>> http://www.gunblast.com/Bersa_Thunder380.htm

pahabol: i just checked the pb dionisio website and they don't have the bersa thunder .380 15+1 anymore, 7+1 na lang ang nasa website nila. try asking them anyway if they still have it. but they do have the bersa thunder 9mm compact, looks nice.
