Side mirrors will get you killed. You need full depth and speed perception to guage whether you should change lanes.

Just look back before you change lanes. If you can't (impossible), then twist your body a bit THEN look back.

Just be sure to do it quickly, and that no cars are ahead and nearby.

Yung mga ganyang skills ang kailangan ng bike commuter na usually wala sa leisure bikers or sometimes even sa competitive biker. Street smart dapat. Di kailangan malakas tuhod or kaya mag 100km.dapat marunong ka sa kalsada.

Like owning the lane. Dame nagsasabi sa akin bat gumigitna ako sa right most lane. Dapat daw sa gilid lang ako. Eh the more na gumilid ka, the more you are giving the driver the leeway of gitgitin ka. Kasi "kasya" pa sasakyan nya eh. Dun delikado. Lalo sa driver na di marunong mag tantiya ng width ng auto nya.

Rule is, give at least a meter allowance sa right side....para may space in case of emergency..like rocks, potholes or fast vehicles on your left..

yes, i do this. nakakabingi to kasi yung yung tenga sasalubong sa hangin. and i match the speed ng sasakyan nasa likod ko unless napansin ko balak nya mauna. pag nagdadrive kasi ko naiinis din ako sa mga mababagal na bike na nakaharang e haha

believe me i'm tempted to use my spray painting respirator LOL

another issue is when you're exerting you breathe more so you inhale a LOT more pollution so when in the city i tend to use my electric pedal-assist bike

if i want exercise i go somewhere away from vehicles

Recently moved to London and a lot of people bike to work. It’s really up to the government to prioritize alternative solutions to the ever-growing problem of traffic congestion.

well, our country here is confused.
first they widen the roads for the cars, eating up the sidewalks. then, they want us to walk and be healthy. but where will we walk? they already transformed the sidewalk into a road.. allowed them to be... a hawker's area.. parking area.. extensions of dwellings..etc.

in malate, some roads had bike lanes painted on them. alas, our roads there are too narrow for them. hayun.. wala...

Unfortunately, that’s one of the biggest challenges to progress. The officials push their own agendas and thus there is no coordination and consistency across departments and administrations.

Difficult to bike to work when it's like 12-14 km from home and your routes involve buses and UVs. Tapos uulan ng malakas. When you get to the office you smell of bus/car emissions.

The only country I know of which has similar weather to ours is probably Vietnam and the citizens do bike to and from their destination.

    Pwede maligo o sponge bath.

Yan din iniisip ko b4 i started BTW. Pero, I bought a folder, tried, liked it, and now I BTW regularly.

Great thing about BTW that i love is yung times savings. Nakakatipid ako ng up to 1 hour one way.

The problem sa mga bike groups eh tabingi ang utak.

Saan ka nakakita na magkikita-kita tapos inuman ang bagsak. Vinivideo pa nila sariling kagaguhan. You dont drink and bike.

Wala ba pwede gawin kasiyahan na walang inuman.

    Accidente waiting to happen.

Anong group yan? Can you be more specific? Para di hasty generalization tayo dito.
