    C = Bill Russell (sorry Shaq)
    PF = Tim Duncan (sorry Karl)
    SF = Larry Bird (sorry Scottie)
    SG = MJ (who else?)
    PG = Magic Johnson, Jr.

    But if I were to choose 5 players for today's game at the peak of their abilities, here are my choices;
    C = Shaq
    PF = Kevin Garnett
    SF = Scottie Pippen
    SG = MJ
    PG = Magic

    if i will build a team around him, its a toss up between Bill Russel and MJ.
    if i want individual accomplishment, i'll go with Wilt C.
    now if the game will be decided in the last two minutes either its close or i am trailing, i will go with Kobe.

    I rather categorized it by decade...

    Sa 80's lang ako anything before that I am not very aware...

    1980's

    C = Kareem Abdul Jabbar
    PF = Kevin McHale
    SF = Larry Bird
    SG = Julius Erving
    PG = Magic Johnson

    1990's 1st Team

    C = Hakeem Olajuwon
    PF = Karl Malone
    SF = Scottie Pippen
    SG = Michael Jordan
    PG = John Stockton

    2000's

    C = Shaquille O'Neal
    PF = Tim Duncan
    SF = Lebron James
    SG = Kobe Bryant
    PG = Steve Nash (this is debatable for me dahil pwede din si Chris Paul)

    regardless of positions (see the thread title), here's my list

    mj (the greatest)
    magic (if most favorite, this guy would be on top)
    shaq (most dominant)
    kareem (his sky hooks made me a laker fan)
    wilt (stats don't lie)
    bird (the reason only a few white players excell is that basketball talents allotted to white people are concentrated on him)
    kobe (basketball talent, skills, intelligence, passion, drive, focus)
    karl malone (the mailman always delivered; next to mj in reliability)
    olajuwon (ahh, those footworks!)
    dennis rodman (basketball is not just scoring; shortest rebounding giant; excellent defender)
    gary payton (both ends of the court)

    now for my first team,

    center - olajuwon (i got him for the defense, his explosive scoring is a bonus in case you got an off night from mj or malone)
    point guard - magic (duh)
    shooting guard - mj (duh)
    power forward - karl malone (points, points, points)
    small forward - dennis rodman (you don't need a scorer with all those other guys in your team)

    by position,

    center - kareem
    point guard - magic (duh)
    shooting guard - mj (duh)
    power forward - karl malone
    small forward - bird

    *tidus, among your 3 teams from 3 different decades, which team do you think would win if they had a tournament?

    I would say the 90's team would likely win...

    yeah, I agree, looks like they are just too strong and talented at every position and LBJ and Shaq would totally dominate. Although I would put Jason Kidd as the starting guard since a better defender vs. Nash. I don't think a scoring PG is needed with LBJ, KB, TD and Shaq there in front of you.
