    True.

Natuto ako nitong quarantine lang kaka baklas balik ng mga gulong ng folding bike ko and from then on todo butingting na.

I plan to diy paint it nga sometime soon.

do what you gotta do so you can do what you wanna do

is there an advantage to building it yourself, versus using someone else's handiwork?

Some people enjoy DIY. The savings on labor costs is also a secondary advantage.

For bikes specifically, pag built-bike, usually chopsuey parts. Take the groupset for example - you'd get the equivalent of a front derailleur from a Wigo, rear derailleur from a Vios, and shifters from an Altis.

Pag nag-assemble ka, you buy the entire groupset as a set so your FD/RD/shifters and brakes are usually the same line with matched performance.

get spoke wrenches specific to the size you're working. avoid the ones that are like small donuts w/ slots in them

just like w/ car mechanics there are way too many incompetent bike techs so if you wanna build it right you just have to do it yourself esp w/ problematic builds like in the pic, if you'll notice even the nipples are different sizes.

ano yung dapat iwasan na "small donuts with slots in them?

and pag laymans explanation ang pagkabit ba ng rayos eh ikot-ikot hangang maglock or salpak-salpak.
