sorry guys, i tried to stay awake hoping kimps would make his picks in time. my apologies.

anyway, my pick has been made...ownertype is on the clock!

some answers to some questions that have been asked?

1. what is the scoring system?
i posted the rules on the previous page, but to summarize - we have 9 scoring categories: FG%, FT%, 3pm, Pts, Rebs, Ast, Stl, Blk, and TO. every week you record a win, loss or tie in all 9 categories. for example, let's say mantoy is my opponent in week 1, and after the games on sunday his players get more pts, rebs, asts, stl, and 3-pointers than me. i beat him in FG and FT%, and have less TO, and we are tied with blocks. our standings at the end of week 1 will be:
mantoy: 5 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie
m54: 3 wins, 5 losses, 1 tie
and so on...i am not able to assign weights for categories in H2H, and there are no 'fantasy points' accumulated. pagalingan lang ng stats in each category.

2. Tsikot is always down? what if i miss my window to pick?
you can email me your pick at hrrrv*yahoo.com - i am keeping an offline tally and i'll make sure your pick gets recorded

3. i am going out of town for a few days...how do i pick?
if you won't have internet access, you can email me a rank-ordered list of players you want and i'll pick the highest-ranked one for you when your turn comes up

4. i understand that if i miss my picks i get a player from the Big Board. what if those players are all gone?
this is a tough one, because there are no full rankings available yet this early. there are some rankings available on sportfanatics.net that i will use, but i will still have to make a decision on which position to select for you. i am really hoping that i don't have to pick for you, but i will make every effort to be fair and get you a good player.

5. where are we playing?
i'll make a private league on Yahoo! sports and send you all an invite and password.

Imo, all points should be +1 and -1 for TO. Just my 2 sentimo.

We were all scampering for great PF-F-FC-C players last league, even the benched players were picked just to make that extra point. With all stats evenly squared, any team can win with rebounds nor assists even in TO category. Just to make our league well balanced and not engrossed with rebounders.

guys, walang points system ang H2H scoring. actually it's even more simple than that - paramihan lang talaga ng stats in each category. let me do another example.

for simplicity's sake let's say we only have 1 player playing 1 game for the week. Team A has Kevin Garnett and Team B has Lebron James.

KG posts the following stat line in his game: 50% FG, 80% FT, 40 pts, 12 rebs, 6 ast, 0 stl, 2 blk, 0 3pm, 1 TO

Lebron gets: 40% FG, 90% FT, 33 pts, 7 rebs, 11 ast, 0 stl, 0 blk, 1 3pm 3 TO.

Team A wins FG, pts, reb, blk and TO because its accumulated stats are better in those categories.
Team B wins FT, ast, and 3pm
both teams tie in steals

counting up the win/losses - Team A's record for the week is 5 wins, 3 losses, 1 tie. Team B gets 3 wins, 5 losses and 1 tie.

the next week each team plays against another team and adds more wins and losses to their record. stats are only counted within each week and do not carry over. it is impossible in Yahoo H2H leagues to set one category to be more important than the other.

H2H players typically either try to balance out their draft picks with players that have different strengths so they are competitive in every category. or they load up on players that have specific strengths to try to win only specific categories (e.g. a team with Shaq, Ben Wallace and Emeka Okafor will be very competitive in rebs, blocks and FG%, but the owner basically has to concede a loss on FT% every week).

Officially, Ownertype has 24hrs after last pick to make his pick. Otherwise the next highest ranked player will be his. In this case that would be Nowitzki. (Tama ba commish?)

tapos na ko. it's hard to decide grabe. but i think dirk will be my main man this season. scorer, rebounder & 3-pointer in one. kung di kasali 3pts sa scoring natin baka iba pinili ko. heheh.

btw, sa kukuha ka kay TD. Asahan niyo baba FG niya this season with the acquisition of Finley and Van Exel. Rebounding and blocked shots, solid pa rin yan.
