Im SMSing with ungas right now. Slow draft raw siya. Antayin ko lang reply niya on the H2H|Points.

M54 dude, no probs here In case of a tie or we have an odd number of players, we can just revert to our setup last year (pts;auto).

But I really want to push for the slow draft though. Feeling GM talaga.

if i am still included then ang vote ko slow draft and H2H. I think H2H mas may thrill kasi if sa points if you are way below the standings parang mahirap na humabol hehehe at least in H2H you have a chance of upsetting the team above in the standings. just inform me the date of the draft as this is my first time to join (just in case im accepted)

ok mga tol...we're almost there. as long as walang magbagong-isip it looks like we're going with an H2H setup and a slow draft. we have 12 confirmed players which is actually perfect for a H2H league.

so...anong gagawin natin kay van_wilder? active pa ba siya sa forum? should we start now and sorry na lang siya or should we give him till friday?

here's more info about H2H leagues, to help you guys prepare for our slow draft. i took it from my baseball league since the hoops rules are not available yet...but it should be the same except for the stat categories:

    SCORING:
"In a Head-to-Head League, your team will square off in a weekly matchup against another manager's team to see who can compile the best stats across a number of different categories.
A new weekly matchup begins every Monday and will consist of a set number of games based on your league's statistical categories. Each stat category counts as one game, with the win going to the team that finishes the week with the highest total in that category (the cumulative total after each Sunday's games).

So, if in a given week, your team hits more home runs than your opponent's, you would be credited with a victory. However, if your opponent's team ended the week with more saves than your team, you would be charged with a loss. If the two teams end up tied in a given category, each will receive credit for a tied game.

This weekly win-loss total will be added to a cumulative season record, which will be used to determine standings and playoff seedings. These standings will be based on your team's overall winning percentage, which is calculated by taking your win total and adding 1/2 of your tie total and dividing the sum by the total number of games your team has played."

PLAYOFFS: (ignore the dates and the references to baseball)
"All Head-to-Head Leagues must participate in fantasy playoffs beginning on September 5. The playoff systems will be the same for all Public and Custom Leagues, and will follow the structure detailed below.
    Championship Bracket:
    Week One
Bye: First Place and Second Place
P1: Third Place vs. Sixth Place
P2: Fourth Place vs. Fifth Place
    Week Two
P3: First Place vs. Winner of P2
P4: Second Place vs. Winner of P1
Fifth Place Game: Loser of P1 vs. Loser of P2

    Week Three
Championship Game: Winner of P3 vs. Winner of P4
Third Place Game: Loser of P3 vs. Loser of P4

    Consolation Bracket:
    Week One
Bye: Seventh Place and Eighth Place
C1: Ninth Place vs. Twelfth Place
C2: Tenth Place vs. Eleventh Place
    Week Two
C3: Seventh Place vs. Winner of C2
C4: Eighth Place vs. Winner of C1
Eleventh Place Game: Loser of C1 vs. Loser of C2

    Weeks Three
Seventh Place Game: Winner of C3 vs. Winner of C4
Ninth Place Game: Loser of C3 vs. Loser of C4

If you are in a Custom League with less then 12 teams, the system will work the same, except that all teams will receive byes until there are enough teams to fill all of the spots for a given week.

Playoffs are only for Head-to-Head Leagues and, regardless of size of your league, no more than six teams will ever participate in the championship bracket.

Additionally, the fantasy playoffs do not include any real-life professional baseball playoff contests.

And, keep in mind that players on teams that do not make the fantasy playoffs or are eliminated from the fantasy playoffs are not released back to the Available Players pool.

To support the ideas of fair play and sportsmanship, we encourage all managers to retain their players even after they have been eliminated from championship contention."

here's a sample of how the scoring works for a single week. my team is Mr. September...note how i completely destroyed my opponent - that will be your team in a couple of months

    Mr. September vs. Fireboys
Team R HR RBI SB AVG W SV K ERA WHIP Score
    Mr. September 41 11 31 6 .306 3 6 49 2.40 1.09 9
    Fireboys 19 5 21 3 .240 3 1 28 4.09 1.30 0

i won 9 out of the 10 categories, and tied in W, so my record for the week is 9-0-1. Fireboys' record for the week is 0-9-1. those records are added up over the season and the best 6 win percentages make the playoffs (seeded the same way as the NBA). in the playoffs, it's win or go home.

    ok mga chong...we're a go!!

    final rules are:
    1. H2H
    2. SLOW DRAFT
    3. 48 HOURS TO MAKE YOUR PICK

please stay tuned for a new thread that i will post up shortly which contains the draft order and the draft rules. please make your picks in that thread. i will also pm all the participants when the thread is up.

rather than waiting till friday and starting on saturday (when site traffic goes down sharply), i will start the thread on mid thursday so we have a day and a half to get going.

van_wilder, i apologize for this pero 1+ month ago yung last post mo at ayaw nang maghintay ng madla

PK or baiskee: is Ungas going to sms you his picks?

i wondered that also...i think it's because pareho silang all-around players, pero lamang si Marion sa rebs, blk and TO. but you don't have to follow those rankings - pick whoever you want!! all these so-called fantasy experts are basketball fans just like us and they can make mistakes.

like last year they convinced me to draft Peja #6 overall and he sucked!! buti na lang nai-trade ko siya

commish, can you pls tell the weight in points of each category we're scoring (pts, rebs, stls, asts, etc)? this will help us better in deciding the players we pick. i remember last year a rebound is worth 2 pts. will it be the same this year? thanks.
