votes are almost even on points vs h2h, and slow vs auto draft. i pm'ed van wilder, ungas and jim to ask if they were still in. maybe some of you know them in real life, baka pwede silang magparamdam.

also, there's a message on yahoo that league registration will start in "late september"

JLee - you're in, dude. one of the last two might drop out, and if they don't we'll just go with the lucky number of 13 players

right now it looks like we're going with a points (5-3 advantage) league, and a slight advantage (5-4) for autodraft over slow draft. to help the undecideds make a decision, here's my take on each option:

points:
more simple but less strategy (i.e. paramihan ng stats vs. trying to build a team that is balanced in all stats)
rewards teams that are more consistent over the season vs. those who finish strong
easier to manage but might get boring for the player who's very hands-on

H2H:
kabaligtaran ng points plus the excitement of player-vs-player competition every week. bragging rights and trash-talking rights at stake.

autodraft:
easier to do (set-and-forget)
can be completed in a day
only drawback is you have a lot less control over the players you get, and you can't read and react to how the draft is going
drafting strategy is less emphasized

slow draft:
kabaligtaran ng autodraft - it's a big time commitment but you basically control every nuance of your draft and the players you get.
for those na gigil na maglaro, it gives us something to do while we count down to the season

anyway, let's try to decide this by the end of the week at the latest

Ang problema sa autodraft kasi maraming high ranked na bobong player. At least may control tayo diba?

kahit na autodraft o slow draft. but havent tried slow draft yet only autodraft so dont know the mechanics of slow draft.

here's how i was planning to set it up:

1. i will set the draft order using the RAND (random number generator) function in MS Excel.
2. i will create a new thread with the league rules and the draft order
3. players will post their picks in the order of the draft on the thread and i will manually input the final rosters
4. the draft will be a ‘serpentine’ draft, which means the last player to pick in round 1 is the 1st player to pick in round 2 and so on
5. players will have 24 hours from the time the last pick was made to post their choice
6. if you miss your turn you will be given the best available player on the yahoo big board rankings. if all of them are gone i will pick one for you (i promise to give my best effort to get you a player you'll be happy with but PLEASE do not miss your turn ;) )
7. we just keep going until we fill out our 15-player rosters

If ever we go slow draft, lets make the waiting period between votes 2 days.

Also, i suggest we use the online random order generator used by ser mantoy last time. para public and transparent.
