kags, last 2017 seagames 6th place ang pinas sa medal tally, may bentahe lang talaga ang host home court, ang alam ko pag asean games lamang pa ang thailand at malaysia sa medal tally satin, thailand and singapore nag ka gold na yata yan sa olympics not sure, tayo wala pa yata

one advantage of the host country, is that her athletes are gonna be competing on familiar grounds.
another advantage, is that the host country can choose to include a few games, games that her athletes excel in and the furrin athletes may not excel in.
but all this is not going to give us the gold, if our own athletes are not better than the competition.

What I'm going to say next is an oversimplification pero... aside from a boxer and a few exceptions, it's most often a ticket to grinding poverty.

Unless of course, when your heyday's over (assuming you achieve some measure of success as an athlete) you can rebrand yourself and enter other cesspool "industries" ng Pilipinas-- show business or politics.
