    Brad said:
"The way that thing works is you get one vote. And I'm telling you, I looked at the sheet and there's no way that I would have voted for me over any of the other 29 people. And the guy that should have won got it. And the other guys that got votes, they're unbelievable.
I'm stealing from those guys all the time. It's so incredible to have an opportunity to be one of 30. And I think it's a lot more important to just focus on competing with your team rather than trying to compare yourself to others. Because I'm telling you, if it gets to be a comparison contest, I'm screwed."

On IT standing up for him...He says:
"I think you know me well enough that [awards] stuff just doesn't [matter]. It means a lot more to me when I get a text message or you hear something nice from a former player, because those are the guys that are in the locker room and you're spending all that time with. Those guys know how much I appreciate and like them, and enjoyed our times together. So that means a lot."

    Coach got class.[emoji4]

Sino ba ang mga pumipili ng COY? maybe they have inside knowledge sa atin lang nakikita natin one side lang but they can see the whole picture.

Ano nga ba tinitingnan ng mga voters when choosing the coach of the year?

It's a travesty really. But from what I know, they look at the team's roster as well as the improvement of their W/L record during the regular season.

That said, not even one vote considering that 2 of the Celtics' all stars went out indefinitely due to injury and he still leads them to a 55-win season?

The bigger voting is the NBA COTY wherein it's the media who casts votes similar to MVP voting.

    Yes, only 30 coaches voted.

Baka sa recent Black Lives Matter movement na-influence decision ng coaches to choose a black coach instead of a white one like Brad or Mike.

Kung record wise, dapat si di antoni...pero siyempre, they are also entitled to their own biases kung sino gusto nila iboto.

    Came across this about Brad....
Brad Stevens may just be basketball's best coach. Beating LeBron could seal it | Sport | The Guardian
Nobody expects this easy-to-root-for guy to bring his team over that LeBron hump this year....but who knows?....CUsRise.[emoji4]

NBCA Coach of the year tapos ni fire lang, tsk! How cruel life is...well,sasabihin lang nila...need to hear a new voice...purely business...blah blah blah!

I believe he is a really good coach, yung material (team composition) nga lang niya ay hindi pantapat sa cavs.

Hopefully he'll find a new team soonest.

I remember ainge received a lot of flak for trading the hurting isaiah thomas last year. People said he was way too cold for swapping their team's injured former heart & soul. But he shrugged those critiques off & just did his thing.

But for me the best deal gm danny ever made was bringing in an untested rookie coach named brad stevens and keeping him in the fold even though the team suffered several setbacks early on. Sure stevens brought butler university to new heights in the ncaa but the nba is whole new ego filled beast.

Galing din lately magdraft ng celtics. Nung una binatikos yung terry rozier dahil puro guard na sa team at available pa bobby portis tapos eto lately bigla nakita talent ni rozier. Yung jaylen brown din out of nowhere pang 8th lang ata yun sa mock draft tapos kinuha na 3rd overall. then yung 1st overall trinade for tatum diyan pinakamadami nagwala pero paying dividends nanaman for boston, halos ka level na din ni donovan mitchell at ben simmons si tatum konting improvement na lang...

Siguro ang pinaka sablay na ni ainge sa draft eh yung drafting james young over nikola jokic tapos fab melo and sullinger over draymond green and middleton

Hard nosed Danny has a soft spot & a good radar for no-nonsense toughness.[emoji106]
Brad is a different breed, unlike any screaming college coach who tried & had lil success in the NBA. He'll have none of those rook-hazing/punkin' rituals. Got so unhappy when Brown's car was filled w/ popcorn last year. Tatum was spared all that this year. He wants practices loaded & quick by doing his homework & detailed film dissection. They celebrate w/ dine, not wine.
That's the winning culture Danny & Brad built in Causeway. The Celtics just don't celebrate Conference crowns.....

    Ito ah muni-munihin ko ah.

Ang reason bakit hindi nanalo among coaches si brad stevens eh because of INGGIT.

Itong si brad before coaching butler eh isang pharmaceutical sales rep. And after butler direcho celtics.

So hindi sya nangaling among the coaching tree sa ncaa, wala sya padrino coach doon. He is his own system at the age of 41years old.

Who cares, right, kags sir? Here's the inside story of Brad's hiring.....Danny smelled him from afar....way back 2010.

Normally, first to go talaga ang mga coaches.

Raps just need to tear down and rebuild. They wont win with their current roster.

“Players Win Games and Coaches Lose Them”.

It's screwed but that's the way of professional sports.

It wasn't because they lost to the Cavs. It's how they lost. It was the right decision to fire Casey. He already set the culture of the team. With that set, the Raps can now have a new voice who can make in-game adjustments which was Casey's weakness.

The NBA season isn't over yet. So expect some more moves from the team once the draft comes closer.

the 14 mins benching of the raptors' marquee player during game 3 and lost was i think the last reason why casey was fired. this is all the management needs as justification to jettison him from his ship.

That was the best thing he actually did. They moved the ball well when DeRozan was on the bench and they were able to tie it up. He was -23 when he was on the floor. Casey had balls to sit DeRozan and went with the lineup that was working. The would've gone to OT and could've given the Raps a chance but of course we all saw what Lebron did in that Game 3 winner.

Yes. Demar was awful that game.
They cut the deficit when demar was in the bench.
But for all we know, this is not the only reason why casey was fired.
