Anyone here tried using their old no-longer-used modems as a repeater? Meron na akong mesh pero I'd like to strengthen our reach in the garage area kasi

I have the same concern as I have old routers with me but I dont know how to configure it with the current PLDT modem/router with mesh. Let's hope some IT guys here can give us a step by step tutoring on how to do it

Depends on the router model.

I have had good success repurposing an unused PLDT ONU (HG6245D) as an AP to cover my garage and workshop. Though I had to go through several steps, both inside the web interface and telnet (CLI) to set it up to my liking. It's not completely de-branded but at least it no longer "calls home".

This unit does not have mesh or repeater capabilities. It needs to be connected to your wired LAN.

1.799 lang monthly ko pero mga 5 years na yata yun plan

Actually if mabilis yung connection mo than advertised, DON'T RESTART THE ROUTER until you absolutely need to.

Baka misconfiguration in your favor kasi yung speed boost and next time it re-negotiates the link back to normal na ulit.

Ok na mag-stay pa din ako sa Globe, nagawa na nila..
Magbabayad na sana ako sa PLDT, naisip ko muna i-check.. Yung 5G ko, umaabot 170 Mbps (yung plan ko 150 Mbps lang). Attachment 43672 Attachment 43673

Same tayo ng plan. 150Mbps din ang advertised speed pero pumapalo ako sa 170-180 every speed test. Nakailang restart na rin ako ng router pero ganun pa rin yung speed.
