    MyDSL plan 990. 384 kbps.

Over at tipidpc.com, some forumers on the same plan as mine get speeds of over 1 mbps. Bakit kaya?

Buti pa sa office, consistently over 1.2mbps (Bayantel).

^Something's wrong with your connection, dude. Try to call PLDT. That's what we did when I got pissed of my crappy connection. It used to go unly up to 260kbps. Here's the current speed:

It's weird that Customer Service actually fixed it!

ps Those users who've been getting 1mbps are probably in the NXGN Network of PLDT (is it what it's called?). Users everywhere else won't get those speeds at Plan 990. But the speed threshold for the Plan 990 is at least 310kbps DL. Anything lower than that means there's a problem.

That's weird. I get close to full speed with WiFi G router and adapter. All the tests I've done recently were with WiFi G. Unless you mean your neighbor is with a strictly wireless ISP.

Add: Another factor may be he hasn't set his WiFi G router to "turbo" mode. Many routers aren't set to turbo mode by default.

I tried wired (my lappy and my kid's Mac Mini)............Cool! I guess I was wrong about being at full speed with WiFi G.

Still..... Even at half the speed, I downloaded Linux and Win 7 dvd iso images around 30 minutes apiece.
