Any body has a link on this news? Was listening on DZMM and I didn't fully understand the interview with the CAAP president (because ironically bad cellphone reception) . Ang naintindihan ko lang eh pwede na gamitin cellphone sa eroplano although di ko naintindihan kung kasama dito during takeoff.

Sa US pwede na on airplane mode during takeoff and landing: Press Release ? FAA to Allow Airlines to Expand Use of Personal Electronics

Put phones on airplane mode to save your batteries. Walang signal at cruising altitude and the phone will keep trying to look for one at max power.

Ung analog cp ang meron interference, pero ung mga gsm wala naman. Remember nyo ung mg flashing LED na dinidikit sa mga analog cp noon, pero sa gsm hindi gumagana kaya wala ng mabili ngayon nun cp flashing led.

If it's connected to the FAA lifting its restrictions to electronics use, it will be for ALL phases of flight including take off and landing. With this, you can how watch YOUTUBE or keep yaking on the mobile phone while the plane is taking off to landing.

Downside to this, the general peace and quiet during an airplane flight will be disturbed by the beep-beep and boing-boing of calls and txt messages.

More than anything else, this is the reason why i'm against use of cellphones on an airplane.

For me, it's ok if they provide internet services. But no phone calls please, imagine some windbag seated beside you yakking for hours on a long haul flight.

wala naman masagap na signal at that altitude eh... wireless service onboard is usually may transmitter within the plane itself...

on old days... planes used to have handsets on board... sa mga movies pwede ka tumawag.. I think this is sat phone technology.. and may credit card needed para sa bayad... so iba pa rin yun...

but weird lang... in this move.. CAAP mismo maglabas ng order to allow it.. when all the other airlines.. pina pasara nila.. kahit nga airplane mode ayaw nila... regardless kung may basis sila.. o hoax or what... it's their airline.. it's their plane.. it's their service... so i think they have the right to impose such...

pero if CAAP order comes in... and say.. Cathay Pacific (CX) insists on it's own policy of having all electronic devices turned off.... saan aabot ang conflict? Philippine courts? IATA?

If I was CAAP.. I'd be careful on the wording on the order... on the other hand... kung double speak naman ang lalabas na order.. baka mabale wala din... they lose face sa public...

Still it doesn't matter. Wala naman signal pag nasa himpapawid ka na. Ako (domestic flights) i just put it in silent mode never did i put it in flight mode. Pag international i flight mode to save batt.

For me bottled water / any liquid above 100ml ang higpit nila diba to carry it with you?

Kung ganun ka hazardous ang mobile phones hindi na dapat pinadala sayo on board or ipa-checkin sayo.
