    I received a forwarded email from chieffy. And on the forwarded message, it states...

    Dear YAHOO User,

    Because of the sudden rush of people signing up to YAHOO, it has come to our attention that we are vastly running out of resources. So, within a month's time,anyone who does not receive this email with the exact subject heading,will be deleted off our server. Please forward this email so that we know you are still using this account.

    We want to find out which users are actually using their YAHOO accounts. So if you are using your account, please pass this e-mail to every YAHOO user that you can and IF YOU DO NOT PASS this letter to anyone we will delete your account.

    From Mr. ALLEN SMITH
    YAHOO Admin. Dept.

    Our YAHOO system is getting to crowded!! We need you to forward this to at least 20 people. I know this seems like a large number, but we need to find out who is really using their account. If you do not send this to at least 10 YAHOO members, we will delete your account. Sorry for this inconvenience.
    </FO NT>

    Sincerely, Director of YAHOO Services
    BOB LOPEZ

    I have noted (bolded and italized) some of the sentence error from the original message. First of all, Yahoo! will never ever use the exclamation mark on any of their email messages. They are a professional company, they will not act or even give its users an ultimatum. Forwarded message, as far as I can remember, can also be categorize as a virus. Sending multiple messages (flooding) will bring the server down, correct? This is the intention of the original recipient, to flood the Yahoo! email server.

    Another thing, if you forwarded the email message to one of your friends, that would mean that he/she is using the email address, correct? Now, if that user is using his/her email address, why would you wanna send him/her this message? You and I both know, that he/she is using that particular email address because that is where we sent the forwarded message, correct? To conclude, forwarding this email message to the recipient that you know the address only means one thing, he/she is using the email address! Therefore, there is no need to forward this type of email notification, correct? One last thing, Hotmail.com will delete inactive (you did not access your email) account after 90days. Yahoo! has the same rules under its TOS (Terms of Service)

    Yahoo! Terms of Service:
    "You acknowledge that Yahoo! reserves the right to log off accounts that are inactive for an extended period of time. You further acknowledge that Yahoo! reserves the right to modify these general practices and limits from time to time."

    Please STOP FORWARDING the above email message.

    Thank you,

    and now, back to our regular programming...
