Meh, i feel they shot themselves in the foot with the earphone-less iphone 7, but we'll see

Personally I don't think it's a dealbreaker. I rarely use my earphones, and when I do, I'm not charging so the adaptor should suffice. My opinion is anecdotal though, I'm not sure how it plays out for the entire population of iPhone would-be users.
