Senior Audio-Video forumers and writers thinks that 3D is just a fad, and won't last long.

Full Desktop computers will be obsolete - only to be replaced by thin client ones (numerous monitor+keyboard, mouse connected to a single server)

Big notebooks and netbooks will be outpaced by handheld touchscreens be it smartphones or tablets.

Optical hard drives might still be here but won't be offered in sized smaller than 16TB. SSDs will be cheaper and faster.

Plasma won't die in the next 6 or 7 years, they will find a way to improve it and it will be offered in bigger sizes and 4K res.

LCD maybe will be eventually replaced by OLEDs.

V8/V10 engines will be a thing of the past. Hybrid V6 are gonna be the biggest you're gonna get.

Printed materials (i.e. newspapers, books, utility bills) might be all gone by then. Digital is the new trend.

CDs will still be there for the purpose of music storage, as digital music can only be as good. CD streams at 14111 kbps while an mp3 can stream at a max of 320kbps only. As they said, you don't play mp3s in you six-figure sound system.

Blu-ray will stay, and so as LPs.

For banking and finance, I think credit card will eventually go away but not at the end of the decade. If they actually proved that implanting a chip loaded with all your details (i.e. bio, bank accounts, credit card details, etc.) under your skin won't have negative side effects to people, then that's the time when CC will be obsolete. For the next 5 years, i foresee smart banking via smartphone or digital device.

CCTVs will be improved and will provide higher-res images and footages all over the globe.

Smart homes won't be as rare as before. Fully automated lights, heating/AC, security cams, the whole nine yards.
