    seriously,
i'm actually mulling over the black bay 58, because the rolex ADs seem to be bent on not wanting to sell me their product.

    it's all about mindset.
sabi nga ng isang watch aficionado,
"when you buy a rolex, it's not to tell the time, because a cheap timex quartz can keep better time than the rolex."

    Napa gogol ako sa visodate

Ganda nga, parang mga train clocks sa europa

Newer Visodates already come with the Powermatic 80 movement. Used older models with the ETA 2836 movement are sold between 15k to 25k in Carousell.

You can also check the Tissot le Locle if you want a textured dial.

    from watch geek fora,

    powermatic 80.
80-hour power reserve. that means, a fully-wound unit won't die in the drawer until after 3 days.
it has a silicium spring, which is not magnetic. thus, powermatic 80 is not as sensitive to magnetism as traditional movements.

    mechanical movements are for fans.
if accuracy and price are what one need, go quartz.

Doc, you have your smartphone to give you the accurate time. It will even tell you the time in any city around the world.

it's not tied to my wrist, kasi.
how many physicians get a full-minute heart rate, looking at his smartphone?
neither is a digital display easy to do such.

if telling the time were the raison de etre, i-ilan na lang siguro ang bibili nang reloj.

    so i wonder,
how many folks here wear a wristwatch (or not), why do you folks wear it (or not), and what type do you wear?

    naku...
    yan ang nalimutan kong tanungin!
    apologies, po.

in my mall walks, i noticed a few cute sea urchin look-alikes...
    black bay 58 !
    or seiko SNE569.... solar pah!
    hmmmm...

    kasi naman,
i am scared to death wearing my recently-acquired GS! ... baka ma-sagi at ma-markahan si zaratsu...
i am thinking, if i sagi the black bay or the SNE, "ok lang"; it might even add to the 'character'.

    choices... choices...

Mahal naman for a limited edition Seiko 5 model. That’s around 25k. Kunti na lang dagdag mo, Sumo 6R35 na mabibili mo.

    i wonder,
if AU$695 is the pang-turistang presyo,
    what is the street price?

Nice doc. Classic design. Kamukha ng sbgw231 minus the date window.
Maganda yan 9F quartz ng GS. [emoji1360][emoji846]

    looks yeigh. guwapo!
personally, i prefer black bay 58.
i'm on the waiting list. no tellin' how long we'll have to wait...
but the black bay 41 is readily available, naman.

went to the local rolex AD, several times in the past.
parang ayaw talaga nila ako pagbilhan... laging wala on sale ang type ko.
so i went to GS, where i got one of theirs, instead. and i'm very happy with it.

a word from the watch aficionado, quoted (from google),
"don't buy a tudor, as consuelo to that coveted rolex. buy a tudor because you like it. otherwise, you will not be happy after buying that tudor, knowing you settled for second-best."
