    heh heh.

i remember back when i was young,
dad had a steel rolex with smooth bezel, cyclops, and blue face. i was enchanted by it. i vowed to someday get myself one...

"dad... the servicing alone is already enough to get me a mid-range seiko..."
300-500k for a Rolex is certainly affordable for someone like you. It's just a matter of breaking your psychological barrier to buying one.

For a better price, you can opt for the Omega Planet Ocean.

Rolex is Rolex. And that's coming from an Omega owner.

Nothing wrong if you buy both an Omega and a Rolex. The same way you can a Panerai or Breitling or Zenith.

If you want to be different and you have the means, you can always buy Patek or AP or JLC or ALS.

Was talking in the context of Dr. D - if you've been following his posts, Rolex talaga gusto niya and this has been consistent for years. Why suggest McDonalds when he wants Jollibee.

He can enjoy both since he has the means. Why limit yourself to one choice?

Think of the Rolex as an investment rather than a luxury. Maybe it can break your psychological hesitation to buy one.
i myself was hesitant for years not buying one because i would always think its for mostly old people.
i ended up during those days (decades ago) getting a Bvlgari, a Cartier, a Tag heuer and a technomarine. And at the price i bought them brand new then and i could have gotten a rolex na. The Rolex if i had gotten it would have almost doubled in price now while the several watches i bought are now less than half its original price.

I dont know why doc or anybody has to be pressured/egged on into buying a Rolex when he is simply talking about the watch.

Procastination helps if you are not interested to buy but it kills the thrill of shopping.

The Great Watch Sale is still on at Lucerne till the end of October. It is only open to cash buyers or BDO credit card owners. You may want to drop by.
