You probably didnt see it pero meron siyang ganito. In my case yan ang nasira so i had to change its enclosure kasi wala nabibiling ganyan lang (dont know what you call that part).

Walang ganyan yung WD Passport. Walang detachable component yung hdisk. Casing lang ang natatanggal.

That's odd. Can you post a pic of the hdd?
    Does it have this?

Looks like the USB3 interface is actually part of the hard disk PCB. No way to retrofit that to a SATA or even an IDE interface.

Found the following video. It appears that newer WD Passport drives have this USB-integrated module in the hard disk controller.

What is MBR? and how to do it? Kasi I'm planning to change it from NTFS to FAT32 (but the option FAT32 is not available sa windows... need ko pa ng third party app to do it)

Possible na incompatible disk controller. I have a USB SATA hdd enclosure na nadedetect sa pc but not by our TV. 80GB lang ang laman nun and it works flawlessly sa Windows and Linux.

AFAIK, yung ibang external hard drive (I guess it's a Seagate) ok naman sila, detected naman.

Will try it onceI go back to Manila. Thanks

Yes pwede outdated yung firmware ng TV. Might as well update that to eliminate as a cause.

^ sa bagay... I opted not to format ulit yung external hard drive.. instead I bought a 32gb 2-in-1 USB (OTG) para dun ko na lang i-copy yung movies and at the same time, I can use it sa mobile phone ko.
