Yup pwede i-series. Just have to make sure the fittings are the same size. Yung amin is 3 stage plus UV from the same manufacturer kaya same lang ng fittings.

I installed water filters na lang in my units para wala ng hakot2 pa. Just have to replace every 5 months and cost around 2.5K. Worth the hassle naman.Attachment 37535

so that's 500 bucks a month...
our nawasa bill is 1000 pesos a month.
if we switch back to poso...
our electric bill will remain the same, whichever source we go for.

question lang po, mas makatipid ba sa kuryente if we will use a water dispenser versus old school way na :
a. hot water, every morning init kami using a electric kettle then lagay sa thermos. one iniit is good for the day na po ito;
b. cold water, lagay ng lukewarm water sa ref then pag gusto inom ng cold, get pitcher sa ref then pour sa baso.

If I were to ask at may budget, better to buy branded and tested ones like GE or Panasonic if meron. I bought kyowa, worth 8k din. Akala ko matibay due to price, 6 months lang bumigay compressor, pinapa warranty ko. Reason bakit bumigay is hindi daw talag matubay compressor mostly ng local brands. Bibigay talaga lalo na if lagi g may low or high voltage sa electric lines nyo. Kinabit ko nalang sa AVR ang unit, ok naman so far. Mag 2 yrs yung unit next year July, sana AVR lang talaga solution para magtagal ang compressor nito.

Yes, mas matipid yung suggestion mo. But depende pa rin.... Kung maya-maya bukas ng ref to get a glass of water, it will consume more electricity. And then you will have to replenish the water in the pitcher/jug multiple times a day and syempre, palalamigin ng ref yan.

In reality, zero-sum yan.

FWIW, you are buying a water dispenser for the convenience. That's it. Just replace the 5-gallon jug every couple of days and you can have instant hot/cold water anytime.

What I do is, I have a timer setup on both the Hot and Cold circuits. Yung Hot water, available lang from 6:00-8:30am (breakfast time) while the Cold water is available only from 7:00am-9:00pm. Anytime during the day kung kailangan ko mag-init ng tubig to drink coffee (minsan lang), meron akong routine to turn on the Hot water for 20 minutes only, then patay sya ulit until the following morning.

4 water dispensers in our compound.... all are local brands.. Kyowa, Camel, American Heritage (or Home), etc. Never bumigay compressors. May isa lang, medyo natunaw connector ng heater (assembly defect).

In other words, they're pretty reliable.

Pero, sabi mo nga... ang problem sa inyo is electricity. Any appliance won't last long kung unstable electricity supply mo.

i have more expensive GE at home.
workplace has cheaper generic.
na-una pang nasira yung GE ko.

i think the lesson is,
buying generic is not a bad gamble.

Typically, no. You will have to check the specifications of your water dispenser.

I see models ranging from approx. 300W to 700W.

The compressor side usually consumes 65-85W, give or take. On the Hot side, however, those that are "fast-heat" or "fast-boil" usually consumes 400-550W.

The one we use at home (Camel), takes a while to heat (appox. 20 mins) because it only has a 190W low-power heater.

Solid Panasonic ref namin, running for almost 15 yrs na. So solid yung compressor ng panasonic even on an unstable electric voltage. That’s the reality sa place namin, need to find solid product para magtagal sa ganitong unstable electricity. Yung Carrier AC namin, hindi nagtagal ng 1 yr. Nag activate daw failsafe mechanism ng controller kaya need reset. Every visit ng technician just to reset the controller is too much. Nag give-up na ako sa Carrier AC namin. Good to know working pa rin tong mga products if stable ang electricity. Yung GE AC namin, good pa, running 2 yrs na, binili ko as 2nd hand from in-laws.

Disappointed lang ako sa Compressor ng Kyowa dispenser namin.
