I simply used the Video/TV switch in the TV. I initially planned to include a tv tuner card so I could record tv shows into the HDD but since I still have a working VHS recorder, I shelved that idea for the meantime.

as long as your video card has a video out port, you can use that. Thats why I used the GF4 MX440 with video out SVGA card. In the display config, you will choose between the monitor or TV as your default/primary display.

does anyone know where I can buy a very small sized power supply?... 150 to 180 watts would be good enough.

I've tried looking throught HMR a few times already. They don't have what I need. What I need is a PICO-PS...

    example:

You can try the power supply of a barebone unit.

    Update:

The Pentium III motherboard died a natural death. This gave me an opportunity to upgrade to something faster since the P3/800mhz CPU was having problems decoding in-sync video & audio from certain high quality DIVX & MP4 files. I found a good deal for an AMD Sempron 2600+ CPU and Red Fox motherboard. Since the board only uses DDR ram, I also got 256megs of 333mhz DDR.

A couple of weeks later, my old Seagate 3.5inch 20gig HDD also started to fail. This could be the increased heat from the new position I placed it inside the VHS case. I replaced with a 2.5inch Seagate 80gig HDD which gave me lots of extra space. With the extra space, I installed a WinFast TV tuner card.

After re-installing Windows XP (remember, the 20gig HDD failed) and all the other software along with it, the VHS-PC version 2.0 runs well.

I'll post pictures of it soon.

All I need now is a classic LED style clock installed in the front face of the VHS case.

    Current config:
    AMD Sempron 2600+
Red Fox motherboard w/ built-in sound & LAN
    256meg 333mhz DDR ram
NVidia GForce4 MX440SE (with video out)
    Seagate 2.5inch 80gig HDD
CDRW/DVDROM notebook drive with external USB case
    Linksys WiFi network card
    WinFast TV Tuner card
R/F wireless keyboard w/ joystick mouse
