I bet the TV addicts kinds of tsikoteers are familiar with TiVO.

It's like a cable box that you could program to record TV shows for you so that you could watch it later on, or even over and over again.

My question is, why doesn't anybody bring this technology to the Philippines?
OR could we purchase Tivo from abroad then run it on our regular Cable TVs?

There is no TIVO in this country.

If you still want a DVR though and want it NOW dito sa bansa, bili ka nalang ng DVD/HDD recorder (like those from Pioneer).

Unfortunately, our TV technology sucks here. We are still using analog distribution of TV content and that does suck (but what can we do). Heck, even Indonesia (a poorer country than us) already has Digital TV available.

You'll have to wait till next decade in order for Digital TV to be made available here..........while other countries that are already in digital will upgrade to HD broadcasting

We are being left behind. (but what more can we do about it???)
