Guys, I'm not familiar with specs of videocams. I want to buy one. But what specs should I look into? I heard JVC is a popular brand for videocams.

Also, I'm a Mac user, are all videocams nowadays Mac compatabile?

I think the following are my points of interest:
    1. Should be 3CCD
    2. Should be capable for HDTV recording
    3. Ability to burn videos into CDs without much difficulty.

How about the size of the capture/screen? How do I know if the pixels/resolution is big? Mamaya kasi yung mabili ko, hindi pala pwede pang tv kasi sobrang liit ng resolution.

bru, try to search for the threads about video cams. a lot has been discussed in that threads. might be of big help without waiting for the people to respond to your question.

I'm leaning towards a Panasonic. Sobrang mahal ng 3 CCD or HD ng Sony. I don' t need HD naman.

Ano mas ok na medium... mini dv or hdd? I'm in a dilemna over the two. I like hdd because no more tapes to keep pero pag mini dv naman, ok lang if mag-crash yung tape unlike if mag-crash yung hdd, medyo masakit yan kasi lahat ng files nandun.

All MiniDV camcorders should be. Macs have always had excellent compatibility with camcorders. Now Sony's with MicroMV(?)....That I'm not sure .

I ended up buying the JVC MG505 (it a 2006 model)... 3 ccd 30 gb hard disk 5mp camera 30% off coz it's a display unit, the last of its kind locally. After that, mga 2007 models na ang ilalabas. Battery life is really short as stated in www.camcorderinfo.com pero ok lang, I think I still got it at a bargain :D

bargain nga.i check mo lang maige kasi normally pag display unit may konti scratches na yan, hopefully yung intergity ng camera wala naman sira. mag start ka na mag video para ma buy off maige.

Nope, no scratches naman. Yeah puro videos na nga ng anak ko hehe! Totoo nga sinabi sa reviews na mahina battery life. I might just buy another one, this time yung 1400 mAH coz yung kasama sa pack is only 700 mAH.

Nakita ko na marami na nag-testing kasi dami video shots pero ok lang, at least tested na
