ang nakita ko lang is Transmit Power, which is already at the highest setting, walang Ad Hoc.

    Yung Hawking, bihira dito yan.

Ah! May isa pa ako solusyon aside from that USB thingy. Kung may PCMCIA slot yang lappy mo Fafy, pwede kang bumile ng wireless-N MIMO adapter. Yung MIMO adapters can increase signal range by as much as 5X, and signal speed by as much as 15x.

pero yung MIMO diba dapat both sides naka MIMO? so kung hindi MIMO yung router or access point, bale wala din.

Don't lose sleep over it ...

Signal strength indicators are not standard among manufacturers. It only shows the relative strength of incoming signals. But the question is, relative to what? Unless they're identical machines, I wouldn't worry.

daming factors... one reason could be the internal antenna... baka sira yung internal antenna ng wifi card mo and it needs replacement?

second one could be chipset? Check if you have RALINK, Realtek, Broadcom or Atheros chipset... if you have realtek, then that could be real crap... the best broadcom at atheros...

posible yan sir na sira ang antenna... or hindi nakakabit ng maayos sa loob... saka in device manager when you scan thru the driver details of the wifi card dun mo malalaman ang name.

built in ba yung wireless mo? try mo adjust yung power management.
Start/Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager/Network Adapters/wireless connection/right click then click properties. tapos select mo yung Power Management then uncheck mo yung default tapos move mo yung cursor sa highest value.

try to connect to the internet even your signal strength is low. If ok naman yung connection mo, dont be bothered by the low signal. sakin kasi ganun eh.

if i put the Power Management slider to the highest value, doesn't this mean na pinakamahina ang signal nito?

yup, built in ang wifi ko.

puro Intel ang nakikita ko sa driver details. and hindi ba na kapag Centrino ang laptop, it means na Intel lahat ng chipset na gamit?

If Centrino then you have a Pentium M, an Intel chipset and Intel wireless.

Don't worry about it as long as you can connect to the wireless network at a respectable speed. I have experienced the same problem. Sometimes, my 2 laptops are only a foot apart and they have different signal strength. Other time its the same.

pag highest, maximum performance nung card. pag lowest, maximum battery life.

malamang sir Intel 3945 yang wi-fi module mo? hanap ka na lang ibang laptop na may same Chipset... pag mas mababa yung sayo... it means pangit design or location ng Internal Antenna or defective ang Internal Antenna...

wireless "N" devices & functionality will only work with "N" type routers. So if you will use a N type device but the wifi router only supports "G", then there is no gain in range nor signal strength.

is there a problem with my wifi?
