if it's a ***y woman.. i'd probably volunteer my time. (Actually I think I already did that in my previous job. She was already married and that greatly simplifies things doesn't it? )

old folks? ... tell them to ask their kids to write them their email. It would save you much bloodletting trying to teach them the internet.

pa gawin mo ng friendster account.

seriously. the email suggestion sounds good. at least functional. start with yahoo (main page) para yung mga menus dun maging familiar sila.. games/auto/business/news/celebrity/music/etc.

make sure na familiar sila sa buttons ng browser (ex. back button ->para malaman nila na pwede lang silang bumalik-balik)

and another thing is if you have a spare computer, kahit na P2 - win98, para lang kahit anong gawin nila, ok lang talaga, especially pag may na click silang adware/virus crap. Had a hell of a time backing up/formatting my GF's family PC after her dad clicked on something which looked like an alert message.

pwede mo sila sigurong bilan ng internet for dummies (kung hindi sila ma-o-ofend sa name). daming ganitong books sa Book Sale (Circa 5-10 years ago ang copyright).

    good luck!

It's simple. Teach them to turn on the computer. To log-in. To turn on firefox/opera/flock(nice one, just haven't downloaded it yet). Then teach them to spell google...

    No, Lola, not googol. Google.

Yes, opo, that is the right spelling, but this is the internet.

Leave them at it for a few hours, they'll get the hang of it.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

If computers per se, better orient them first on the basic parts/components of a computer (mouse, keyboard, etc.). Hardware first, then gradually shift to software.

Just tell them to not be afraid to make a mistake and tell them to take things slowly and to read what they have on the screen, tell them about the help menu too!

My mom is over 60, my dad over 70 and both of them were able to adjust to computers and the internet, it takes patience and time, but they will get the hang of it...

Why not teach them yourself. I think it will only take about 3-5 hrs. to do it...

^^^ I suggest the same thing. Shortcuts!

one on one na lang. Siguro naman it'll just take you the whole afternoon to teach them the basics. Good luck!
