Smart sells 23,000 SIM in HK

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) said its mobile phone unit Smart Communications Inc. sold about 23,000 subscriber identity module (SIM) cards in Hong Kong after the recent launch there of its pre-paid service. The new service, called 1528 Smart, is meant to cater to Filipinos working overseas, who can use it to send money to their families in the Philippines. PLDT said the new subscribers to the 1528 Smart service are not included in Smart’s end-September total of more than 17 million subscribers.

SmartCom subscribers exceed 17 M

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT) Friday said its cellular subscriber base has exceeded 17 million. The subscriber base combines that of subsidiary Smart Communications Inc., the country’s largest mobile phone company, and affiliate Pilipino Telephone Corp., or Piltel. Smart added over 1.2 million subscribers in the second quarter, bringing its subscriber base to 12.5 million as of end-June. The number of Piltel subscribers expanded by 470,000 in the same quarter, bringing the total to 3.5 million subscribers at end-June. The cellular phone business is the main earnings growth driver of PLDT, the country’s dominant telecommunications group. PLDT reported its first-half net profit surged to P12.008 billion from R1.785 billion a year earlier, as revenue grew 20 percent on year to R55.59 billion from R46.22 billion. For the second quarter alone, PLDT posted a net profit of R6.8 billion, more than double the year ago level of P3.35 billion, due partly to increased cellular phone usage during the May 10 election period.

nyehehehehehehe dishonest pa nga ako jim eh kasi 16M+ lang ang nasabi kong subs ng SMART at hindi 17M+. Hindi na pala ako updated.

I borrowed a SUN Sim this afternoon. So far OK naman ang signal. Bilis naman dumating ng mga messages. If this goes on, I might change my network provider na.

I have a friend in Bulacan din who uses a SUN sim. OK naman ang texting namin.

ang lowest plan is P250 per month. kung gusto mo ng 24/7 unlimited, plus P250 pa. bale P500.

pero kung gusto mo 24/7 lang. mag prepaid ka na lang. pwede mo i convert and load mo to 24/7 or bili ka ng 24/7 na call card.

aminin man o hindi ng smart at globe, talagang ang dami lumilipat sa sun. i've been to a number of malls these past weeks and many people are queuing * sun shops which is abnormal compared to the time when the 24/7 promo was not introduced yet.

Kimps, malamang nasa robinons nga yung site diyan hehehe. Kakakuha lang nung GF ko ng SUN prepaid kahapon. Haysus! Ubos ang batt ng headset ko. Tatlong 15 minute calls kami. (You get cut off at the end of the 14th minute. All you have to do is redial though). Dami pa rin naman sim dito at P150. But yes, some dealers are overpricing the sims and we have a fresh batch of sims to be released.

Pissword, cutoff is determined by day not by hour. Assuming you load your P100 CTU anytime on Oct1, you will get cut off on midnight of Oct 11.
Also, CTU cards are not cumulative!!!!! So assuming the same scenario that you loaded a P100 CTU card on Oct1, If you load another BEFORE the 11th, sayang lang. Make sure you load AFTER the expiry of the previous CTU card para sulit.

Sir Promdiboy, unfortunately for postpaid, yung 24/7 is strictly an add-on cost. So pag plan 250, in essence, magiging P500 ang MSF nyo inclusive of 24/7. Pero the original P250 naman is consumable and is used for excess SMS, inter, landline, GPRS, MMS etc.

Ganyan talaga vanda pag may makulit na newb. long time no see ah!

tanung ko lang po un plan 2000 ba wala ng additional charges sa bill pag dating ng monthly?

i mean except un 250 para sa 24/7
