balita ko agressive talaga ang SUN ngayon sa pagpapatayo ng cell sites. Malaking pera ang ininvest ni GW para ma-improve ang services ng SUN. by the end of the year tyak laki ng improvement talaga ng signal ng SUN.

Just because you fine tuned & added more cellsites doesn't mean you'll gaining more subs and be more competitive. What the subs needs right now are service quality and seamless coverage. What's the use of free call and free text kung hindi naman ako maka-tawag o maka-text because of poor network quality? Aanuhin ko ang free Calls/SMS kung wala naman akong ka-text o ka-telebabad kasi nasa ibang network operator naman ang gusto kong tawagan/i-text? ;)

But you do have a point in your 2nd statement. But I think Telco giants will not bother on doing this. hehe..... :happy

Hindi na siguro kailangan ng globe & smart gayahin yan. matagal na kasing masaya ang subs nila. that kind of move is only good for telco juvinile to catch up.

tingin ko matatagalan pa bago magaya ng SMART at GLOBE ang 24/7 ng SUN. ang target naman ng SUN e families at corporations. laki ng tipid ng families sa 24/7 noh!! pati companies syempre. can't wait to see what will happen the next few months hehehehehehe

ows masaya ang mga subs ng smart at globe??? ako hindi hehehehehehe kasi palpak ang balance inquiry ng SMART at GLOBE unlike SUN realtime talaga. nung tumawag naman ako sa globe yung cs nila para lang kaming naglolokohan sa iba ko pa nalaman kung bakit may delay ang balance inquiry. sa tagal na ng SMART at GLOBE sa industry dapat naayos na nila yan. nagkataon lang na walang nakatapat ang GLOBE at SMART dati pero ngayon things will change hehehehe...... and a lot of my friends are not happy din hehehehehe. SUN will liven up the competition!!! PEACE!!!

every juvenile telco will do anything to eat into the market. di ba kung anu ano din ang ginawa ng globe and smart dati when the country's cellular phone market was dominated by mobiline/piltel? sino ba nagpauso ng switching, Globe! imagine kahit sirang handset tatanggapin nila! that's how i became a Globe subscriber

well, isn't that what mobiline and extelcom didn't do when the GSM networks came in the market?

they were too complacent! they were too late to introduce new services / products that would match the offerings of the GSM networks even though the CDMA is also capable of doing all that.

    now, where's mobiline and extelcom?

Now you bring out the CDMA, it would be fitting to share with you some comparisons of GSM and CDMA. CDMA is a recent technology alright and its logically had it’s roots older than GSM as it was used in WWII, Cuban Missile Crisis et al. The technology was tested effectively in 1991 for cellular communications. Hongkong was the first one to implement CDMA.

If you take the large wireless operators in US, most of them use the CDMA technology. Big firms such as Sprint, Verizon wireless et al support CDMA, while T-mobile and Cingular support GSM.

    CDMA, comes up with:

    Increased security for wireless communications
    Duplex conversations
increased efficiency that allows a large network to handle traffic effectively (better return for buck spent)
Better battery life for phones as low power consumption
    Better capacity and reach,

This means that it has cons too.

    No international roaming
    Newer technology
    proprietary technology
WCDMA will not be available in Europe/asia till 2005 while GSM successor GPRS and EDGE is already in our hands.

Right now, GSM is a clear winner with 5-1 usage demographics. If you wanna have a worldwide coverage, go with GSM. That is why CDMA didn't take-off much here in Philippines. So obviously Mobiline adapt GSM with the help of merging with SMART.

Hope that was a useful enlightenment.

i would understand coz you are from smart. pero bakit hinaharang ng smart at globe ang application ng iba pang telcos na gusto pumasok sa GSM? takot ba sila? ngayon pa nga lang kinakabahan na executive taga-smart at globe based on a close friend's (insider) story. siempre di aaminin ng smart at globe na affected sila sa gimik ng sun. kung di lang hinarang ng government ang pag bili ng gokongwei family ng pldt, malamang subsidiary nalang ng sun ang smart ngayon.
