I don't know about newer Philips DVD players, but the one we have, sobrang bagal sa lahat, mabagal mag-eject, mabagal mag-read, mabagal mag-power ON, etc.

It's the opposite naman for me. Lahat nagplay sa Pioneer, Philips naman ang mapili.

baka naka-region lock yung pioneer at philips ninyo kaya mapili? a friend of mine talked the matter out with the service center (pioneer) at ipinaalis niya yung region lock...cost P500 (no receipt).

baka ganun lang din sa philips service center?!?

Hindi naka region lock mga DVD players dito. I can play kahit anong region, mapili lang talaga yung Philips.

Hindi kaya defective? I remember yung ad ng Philips dati, "King of DVD's" kasi they can play almost anything, even DVD's na hindi mabasa ng ibang players. May money-back guarantee pa nga yata. Pero this was the time na yung entry-level DVD nila ay 6k (others were retailing at 4k).

May pinang-regalo yung misis ko na DVD sa utol niya, 1.9k lang, may USB port, and can play the usual formats, MP3, Photo CD's, DVD-R/+R, CDRW, DivX, etc. May 1 year warranty pa. Can't remember the brand, though.

I had a similar thread last December. Tsikoteers recommended Xenon (off-brand version of Pioneer. Okey naman. Satisfied user.
