afterlife is just a fantasy, a concept that's present in pretty much all human belief systems needless to say we all hope it's true but unfortunately wishing for something to be true doesn't make it real hawking knew that fact very well

"I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail," Hawking said Sunday in The Guardian. "There is no heaven or afterlife for broken down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark."

    RIP.

But, most folks don't know what the hell he is talking about. Lmao.

We go, "Huh? What? Parallel universe? Black holes? The event horizon? No information in the black hole? The hell is that? "

However, he will only get attention when he says, "there is no God. God is not necessary" and all hell breaks lose. Lmao.

But, that's only his own interpretation. In the Parallel universe, anything is possible because you have an infinite amount of universes that exist side by side with our own universe. There could be another you in that other universe, but, living differently than yours. The other you might be living in a Star Trek world with various species of Aliens living with you.

Remember he held a party for time Travellers to attend. The catch is, he posted the invitation after the party is already over.

    Nobody attended by the way.

What I will remember with Stephen is that his ceaseless warning in facebook not to communicate with aliens. It's dangerous! Lmao! That's already UFO, Martians, green men from outer space, bigfoot and leprechaun territory there. LOL!

He also uses the laws of physics like E=mc2 to prove that God doesn't exist. Hehehehe!

I would rather advice him to stick with Physics rather than involve himself with UFO, aliens and Zeus.

    i see you're not a sophisticated thinker

but i sort of agree that the idea of aliens being hostile is a bit too star trek -ish. but then again who knows that their values are. it's definitely possible that there's a civilization out there who would exterminate us just for simply existing. i.e. some kind of alien nazi

yeah the consensus is that we're not alone in this universe. deal w/ it

don't forget that as we push the frontiers of science the area of ignorance that we used to attribute to god etc, keeps getting smaller and smaller. e.g. certain diseases are caused by bacteria/viruses not god's curse

His premise is never try to contact a advance civilization.... Look what happened when a more advance Europe "invaded" the Americas, Africa and Asia.

They became "modernize", am I correct? Look at the world now. Look at the Philippines. Are we still living in huts and caves? Are we still using bows and arrows to hunt? Are we still using sticks to make fire? Lmao!

The problem with Stephen's premise is that he only focused on that singular situation in history, but failed to see the huge benefits hundreds of years towards the future.

For someone known to be smart, he sure is narrow minded don't you think? LOL!

the counter argument is that we've already been broadcasting TV and radio for a few decades now

but i do agree that broadcasting a high-power "beacon" out into space is probably a bad idea

Any supposedly intelligent discussion about intelligent alien life

there should be mention of Fermi paradox and Drake equation

    Read about those

    Then discuss

There could be alien life forms, even intelligent ones, but heck they could be so far away interaction or a space ship fly by would be impossible or impractical even. All these of course are on the premise that everything still depends in science.

Reminds me of the ants in the jungle hypothesis.

“The so-called ants-in-the-jungle hypothesis would have us unaware of ETI [Extraterrestrial Intelligence] for the same reason that ants in a jungle may be unaware of people – no person has ever just happened by. People are beyond their sensory horizon…ETI may be beyond our intellectual horizon; some of the phenomena that we already see may be associated with ETI, but we don’t understand.”
