I think what you got has a passive subwoofer. What I did with my accoustimas with passive subwoofer was to add an active subwoofer.

wala naman sigurong sira 'yan, try mo na lang muna connect sa ibang receiver. matibay kasi mga bose speakers.

Dapat ang bass e ramdam ko sa puso ko.
Then yung basag ng salamin pag naapakan e rinig ko.

It might be naka stereo mode ka sir kaya left/right channel lang gumagana. Gagana yung mga center at 2 rear channels depende sa sound mode implementation or sound format (dts, dolby, SDDS and SRS) na ginagamit mo like 5.1/6.1/7.1/9.1/11.1 or 5.2/6.2/7.2/9.2/11.2, i've seen folks using 4subs or more on their system. But with it's complexity, i tried to go away with multiple subs. Sir ninjababes has a very good ht set up, he can enlighten you about svs subs.

Before spending on your audio gears, it would be wise to invest first on your room design and treatment.

For a dedicated ht set up, iiwasan ko ang Bose, who wants ng puro hi's and lo's on their system? I myself has an array of bose products. I regret having their 6.1system. And i don't like the after sales service ng eleksis marketing. Nung na damaged yung acoustimas 16 series3 ko ng lighting surge,it took them 5months to repair it. Wtf?..
For smaller rooms, soundbar will do the job just fine. Very neat set up, less clutter lalo na pag wireless sub. Di na kelangan ng WAF...
Def Tech makes a very good product as well. Problem is, I don't know kung meron silang service center locally.
